Dweller Dark Posted April 20, 2021 I doubt there are, but I was thinking what it would be like if there was a WAD that was pretty much "The Room" but in Doom. With all the Tommy Wiseau and everything. And that got me thinking about what WADs may already be like that, considering the 20+ years of created content for Doom. And maybe if there aren't many, this may inspire someone to see what they could come up with. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

LadyMistDragon Posted April 21, 2021 I'm thinking this utterly gross movie I will not watch again, The Greasy Strangler would be a PERFECT candidate for Doom wad treatment. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Is the movie gross because of the content in it, or the visuals (such as gore or vomit)? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
VoanHead Posted April 21, 2021 we make a doom annihilation wad. Who's with me!? 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

HombreSal Posted April 21, 2021 (edited) Isn't Doom itself supposed to look like a really cheesy horror B movie? Edited April 21, 2021 by HombreSal 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Dweller Dark Posted April 21, 2021 Just now, HombreSal said: Isn't Doom itself supposed to look like a really cheesy horror B movie? I suppose it does give off that feel, but I think Blood does the cheesy horror better. (Sidenote, Cheesy Doom would be cool. Everything looks like cheese and all the weapons fire cheese) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
roadworx Posted April 21, 2021 the closest i can think of is aod doom, although idk if you can call army of darkness "cheesy" 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
OliveTree Posted April 21, 2021 army of darkness is kind of categorically cheesy 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Peccatum Mihzamiz Posted April 21, 2021 PUSS 7: March of the Speeddemons is a community project in which many mappers embraced the feeling of 80's and 90's style action movies like Rambo and Die Hard. Several maps include action scenes with helicopters, trains or subways. The map names alone should tell you all you need to know: -Rad Rads -Nuclear Bambino -Die Hard -Deadly Attraction etc. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Walter confetti Posted April 21, 2021 Answering OP question, there's Attack of the killer tomatoes by Impie, MAP30 of Dwango Unchained have a reinterpretations of "The Room" location in Doom (there as well a IoS parody with Tommy Wiseau doing the "you tearing me apart, Lisa!" part that i saw very long time ago on the Doom pictures thread iirc) and a level based upon the japanese animated movie Wicked City that is pretty cool actually. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

One of the leads gives himself an industrial-strength grease bath at night before he decides to kill some rando in a fairly nasty fashion. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
CacoXplainn Posted April 21, 2021 (Not calling it cheesy, but considering the topic at hand I had the idea) What if someone made a Doom WAD/PK3 inspired by John Carpenter's The Thing? 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Jello Posted April 22, 2021 There's also that Hellraiser TC for Doom as well. Can't say I really played much of it, or enjoyed what I played. But it's out there. I still love Hellraiser and Hellraiser 2, but the TC, not so much. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

I wish somebody would take the resources and start all over. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Tetzlaff Posted April 22, 2021 (edited) That TC used assets from a vaporware Hellraiser game, those and the whole setting have great potential for a Doom mod IMO. edit: oh okay... I heard terrible things about the franchise after Hellraiser 2. Personally I only watched Hellraiser 2 and I really liked that hellish maze world. The first Hellraiser movie was retold in it's entirety to me by a friend on a school excursion, so I never felt the need to watch that one. Yumheart Posted April 22, 2021 There is that one really old wad that was heavily inspired by Evil Dead 2. I think it was called "Doom". 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

I mean, honestly, Hellraiser 3 is watchable, as is Bloodline. But they suffered terribly from Clive Barker not having any involvement with them. But with Bloodline, they jumped the shark. As soon as you feel the need to make Hellraiser: IN SPACE! the franchise is done. See Jason X and Leprechaun 4: In Space (Christ that was a creative title). Hellseeker was watchable enough I suppose. Inferno, Deader, and Hellworld (especially fucking Hellworld, that was just a complete abomination) on the other hand are just so absolutely terrible. Watching Hellworld seems like a form of torture even the Cenobites would revel in. It seems they all suffered from the same fate: Dimension Films having to release a Hellraiser movie so they could keep the rights to it... apparently Revelations was filmed in 11 weeks. And they were all created as having nothing to do with Hellraiser to begin with, they just shoehorned it in so they could keep the rights. Haven't bothered watching Revelations and Judgement, without Doug Bradley as Pinhead, what's the point? But yeah, it doesn't seem like Dimension wants to actually make a Hellraiser movie, they just want to sit on the rights to the franchise so they keep pumping out direct to DVD movies. Let someone else have a chance. I do have a sad face now :( Edited April 23, 2021 by Jello 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

I would suggest watching it, even if you know the story. I can't really pick between Hellraiser and Hellraiser 2 as my favorite from the series, but they're both good. It's kind of like Alien and Aliens, or Terminator and Terminator 2. The sequels expanded drastically on the originals, with more action, but the first Hellraiser seemed to deal more with the absolute horribleness of humans. The Cenobites were just there doing their job, it's the humans that were evil. Edited April 23, 2021 by Jello 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
insertwackynamehere Posted April 23, 2021 I really like Hellraiser 5, 6 and 7 even if they were just random psychological horror scripts with Pinhead shoehorned in. I think they are really good “wtfffff” B horror movies where everything is like a waking nightmare for the protagonist. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
