Well my OG name was deathdog, for xbox for the longest time (i was a very edgy teen back then and i though it was cool name). Years later i changed it Scavenger Wolf because i love wolves (save your jokes) and there also scavengers as well. So i go by xScavengerWolfx or scav for short. The (x)'s are silence just how the P in Psycho is silence.

I was ~11 and needed a name for Minecraft. I was going through a bit of a Pokemon phase - or more accurately, a phase of interest in the Youtuber TheJWittz - and so I went with the name of a trainer class that conveyed my interest in the series. Fast forward almost a decade and I couldn't care less about Pokemon and I rarely watch JWittz's videos, but yet the name remains. I usually go by Poke but I keep the full name around for a couple reasons:

1. Nostalgia. It's very much a "ten year-old came up with it" name with its typo and random meaningless number tacked onto the end, but it's mine. I'm attached to it, as dumb as it is.
2. This one's a little weirder, but I like having a "full" name because then Poke can become a nickname, and I like nicknames. I can't say why, there's just something satisfying to me about being called by a nickname. Something to do with the casual closeness it implies I guess. Maybe also something to do with the fact that my name is Dustin, so I never really had a nickname in real life growing up (besides "Dusty" when I was very young and hated at the time but for similar reasons have grown more fond of as of late)

Well, my current username is because my name is David and I like Doom. I kinda used the format of a username I used on places before finding Doomworld, so that's why I'm DavetheDoomGuy. I can't remember my initial username that I used prior to DavetheDoomGuy, though, but I could probably find it somewhere.

It comes from a very random memory I have from when I was like 6 or 7 -- I remember thinking the word "maximum" was instead "maxmanium" and not believing my parents when they said otherwise. Over a decade later I figured it was abstract enough for a username.

As for the number 02, it's from my birth month, February (1999).

My username actually comes from an old unfinished space opera novel of mine. Child me wanted the main villain's title to be a step above emperor or dictator or whatever. So I decided to combine 'Omni' (all) with 'arch' (roughly translates as 'ruler'). Bingo! Now I had an intimidating title for the leader of the malign Assimilator Horde / Collective / Ascendancy / Zaratyr Empire (I rewrote that manuscript a lot).

 

Later, when I decided to join a popular sci-fi / fantasy forum called Spacebattles.com, Omniarch seemed like a good enough internet handle, since my previous one (Empire) had already been taken, and it has stuck around ever since.

My username comes from playing a prank on my drunken elder brother. I have told this story before but I'll toss in a shorter version of it here.

 

I had been away from Doom for a number of years, came back last year and got into a bit of mapping. I immediately decided I would make a map to annoy my elder brother (who's 51 by the way). I slapped together a half arsed map and messed around in decorate to make a double-scale Revenant that could only punch, was lightning fast and killed you in 1 slap. I also gave it a ridiculous amount of health.

 

I then let my brother play it while he was drunk, under the guise of "test this map for me, tell me what you think I should improve". It was just square block rooms linked to more square rooms, all filled with zombiemen. It was intended to lull him into thinking it was crap and piss easy.

 

He grumbled throughout telling me it was bland and too easy, followed by insults like "did you even try?". Then he got to the final room and met the chittering irritant I had created. It towered over him and he barely had time to register wtf was going on before it was in his face.

 

I'll give him his due though, he refused to give up no matter how many times it killed him in 1 slap. The room was big, but this thing was fast. It's why I disabled its ranged attack, otherwise there would be no humour to it.

 

At one point he was running around convinced he needed to activate something to kill it. He perished many times to the mighty slap of death, trying in vein to hug walls for a hidden switch/area. It went on for about 15 minutes before he figured out the real reason I was in stitch's laughing. Probably because he was drunk.

 

The only mistake I made was not adding the Benny Hill theme tune to the fight. You know, for maximum effect.

 

The name of this Revenant was Final Verdict.

OK, strap in, this is gonna be weird.

So back when I was like 3-4, I had a diaper as my sleeping buddy. (No, nothing extraordinary, just a white piece of cloth but it was hella comfy to chew.) I especially liked the corner of it. It had some kind of lining just to prevent it from unraveling or something. And I called it Csücskös, meaning cornery... Csücsök means corner, but in an informal way. (In Hungarian that is, if you are wondering) Yeah, so it stuck. When I was 7, my dad made me an account in a text game they were playing with my brother. I was so excited, I too wanted to play. So he asked me what should be the name of my character. I said Csücskös because... I had no better idea. Turned out, no accents were allowed in that game (it was long time ago, OK? :D) so we settled on Csucskos. And since than I use that as my name everywhere. It has no real meaning and it annoys the hell out of everyone, not knowing how to even pronounce it. I love it ;)

Oh, I later realized Csücskös means "tough" but only in some rural dialect so it is another reason not to change it.
