The name sounded cool, and I wanted to blend in with the cool kids, lol. The name had stuck ever since. Literally the first thing that popped into my head, or whatever reason. Albertoni Posted July 3, 2017 My last name. I like it. Not too much other than that; In hindsight it is maybe a constant reminder that I'm posting under my real name, so I have to control my words. Not that I ever needed to, but who knows. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
antares031 Posted July 3, 2017 Quoting my own post from the past: On 2016. 4. 17. at 7:44 PM, antares031 said: One of the first nicknames I've created was "alclsth031", along with a few more nicknames that I can't even remember now. What does "alclsth" mean... well, if you have a korean keyboard, you can type these letters in korean and you'll know its meaning. I'm not going to tell you since it's not a good word at all. So, One day I decided to change it to less negative, and also appealing to english-speaking people. I wanted to leave A at the beginning, and I wanted to retain the amount of letters, which means the new nickname should begin with A, and with 7 letters in total. And this is what I picked: antares. About 031, my birthday is March 19th, and you can type it as 0319 alternatively. But I didn't want to expose my birthday to the public, so I deleted 9 at the end. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
GuyMcBrofist Posted July 3, 2017 Just a play on my name. A co-worker called me that one time and it stuck. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

The Nate Posted July 3, 2017 I actually kinda liked Mark's name, although I used Jack because Sgt Nate V doesn't have the same ring to it. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Not Jabba Posted July 3, 2017 (edited) When I first found out about pwads and the Doom community in late 2004, the first site I landed on was Doom Wad Station. I made a post as a guest on their forum asking how to load some pwad or other, but at the time, the site was naming every guest poster as "jabba" for some reason instead of "guest." So when I actually registered, I named myself Not Jabba. Edited July 3, 2017 by Not Jabba 20 Quote Share this post Link to post
Royal_Sir Posted July 3, 2017 Started off as a joke in class where we had to write our names on our desk for our teacher to keep track of us. I wrote Royal Sir Masterton in the hopes she would call me that. XD 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
nxGangrel Posted July 3, 2017 "Gangrel" comes from one of the 13 clans from the pen and paper rpg "vampire the Masquerade". Quote from wikipedia "Gangrel: A clan of animalistic shape-shifters who shun the cities for the wilderness beyond. Independent and more interested in their own survival the Gangrel prefer to run with wild animals rather than play politics with others of their kind. Gangrel are masters of the Discipline Protean which allows them to change their bodies into bestial shapes. When Gangrel frenzy they begin to resemble the Beast taking on animal features and disfigurements. Gangrel are one of the seven founding clans of the Camarilla, although they broke from it close to the end of the game line" The "nx" before it was just a cheap way of making the name unique and so people know it's me. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
geo Posted July 3, 2017 One of these threads exists. I chose Geo because it is my name. Its like Geography... some have tried to pronounce it Gey-Oh. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Moustachio Posted July 3, 2017 (edited) I came up with Matt534Dog in the 4th Grade. If I got rid of it now I would miss it like a hernia. Edit: Not missing it. Edited August 9, 2017 by The Mysterious Moustachio 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Psyrus Posted July 3, 2017 I once noticed some random guy on TV named "Syrus" some number of years ago -- about 2001-ish. On the fly, I slapped a silent 'P' in front of it, and there we have it. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Dragonfly Posted July 3, 2017 @Matt534Dog sounds like you wouldn't miss it at all, or better yet, would feel relief from it's change/removal. :p 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
CARRiON Posted July 3, 2017 Carrion, for those that might not know (?) is the rotting flesh of dead animals. My name actually began as CARRiON+FLOWER, which is a real flower also commonly called the "corpse flower" due to the pungent odor it emits which is said to smell like rotting flesh. I found it sort of darkly humorous that something as beautiful as a flower could smell so vile and cause people to back off and completely avoid it. "Carrion Flowers" is also the title of a Chelsea Wolfe song, and I'm a big fanboy. I eventually shortened it to just CARRiON, or CARRiON-XCII. Both for ease since some places don't allow large names, and because more often then not I feel like a walking dead piece of meat, so the name still applies. The number 92 is due to the significance I have with it, the lowercase i and roman numerals are just stylistic choices to stand out. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Avoozl Posted July 3, 2017 (edited) I got mine from a character in Quest For Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness (an old point and click adventure game from 1993 which I really love) who was supposed to be some sort of Cthulhu inspired being from another dimension who wields the power of darkness, and it got trapped and petrified between dimensions after an unsuccessful summoning. Lila Feuer Posted July 3, 2017 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanosis Quote The name cyanosis literally means the blue disease or the blue condition. It is derived from the color cyan, which comes from kyanós, the Greek word for blue. I like blue. I like cyan. I like association with the cold. I'm also just associated with a lot of really 'nice' things as a result as listed under the causes section of that Wiki link. This name was chosen near the end of 2010 as my new handle as its title was literally the opposite of hot (my prior handle was BurningCadavre for the longest time). For around three to four years I had it spelled as just Cyanosis and I liked this as pretty much made me undetectable in search engines, but sometime after I got Steam and stopped giving a shit I started spelling it as cyan0s1s. Eventually I re-named myself on Doomworld to match and just about anywhere else I go as it's the #1 way to pinpoint my presence anywhere online, as there can only be ONE Cyanosis. Plus I like the number 1 for a couple reasons (Ichi from Koroshiya Ichi / Ichi the Killer, Max Damage's vehicle number in Carmageddon series) so it's perfect for me. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Voros Posted July 3, 2017 That moment when you're playing Pokemon Ruby and you randomly made up a name for you're guy. Voros. I do this a lot when it comes to usernames. Viga and Delo are 2 other names I randomly conjured up. One for SRB2 and the other for YouTube, I think. Regret the YouTube one. But my very first username was on Roblox. At that time, I never registered on anything. So I followed the advice given for creating new usernames. 1. Two capital letters DI 2. Two lowercase letters ed 3. At least one random number 456 Username: DIed456 Maybe that advice was related to passwords... 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
seablock Posted July 3, 2017 (edited) the rhythm guitarist of Weezer, Brian Bell, used to have a side-project called Space Twins which he started with his then-girlfriend in 1993. the original plan for the band was to play at kids' birthday parties wearing silly sci-fi outfits and calling themselves Spacehelmet and Moonboot. i thought moonboot sounded cute so i've been using it as my username wherever i can Edited July 3, 2017 by moonboot 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Doominator2 Posted July 3, 2017 When i was 14 i thought i was being clever by making a pun of the word dominator, by adding the word doom in it. I added 2 at the end because someone else on this forum previously had the name doominator. I only ever really use this username here. Everywhere else I go by Lord Karnage or bmailbox. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
MTF Sergeant Posted July 3, 2017 I made a stupid username as my first one by adding 'Doomguy' to my own name as "AbhinandAnilDoomguy". Then I once regretted it and then changed my username to TFK, which is one of the enemy clans from Need For Speed:Carbon. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
