Many new games suffer from ULTRA ÜBER REALISM and you can only carry 3 weapons with 2 shots each. A game is meant to be fun, not realistic. Absolutely true, but I believe most people in this thread are perfectly aware of that already (at least I'm getting the impression of that now when I think about it). But it wouldn't hurt to try and use your creative "powers" to come up with some sort of explanation for the inconsistencies nonetheless now would it? :-) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Yeah I know. Just thought I would put some light on it so people don't forget. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
SteelPH Posted December 30, 2002 how do invisibility spheres work? why are many monsters so incredibly stupid and walk right under crushing ceilings, get stuck in door traks, etc. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

When touched, the fluid will cover the person who touched the sphere in a thin layer and thus bend light around the user. The sphere is visible because the fluid only bends light effectively when there's only a thin layer. Monsters do not really notice their environments, they only sense mortal beings and understand if there are obstructions blocking their way to their prey. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
VILE WARLOCK Posted January 4, 2003 the rocket launcher as someone said in a fanfic, the only feasible explanation to his capability of continuosly firing withouth reloading it is band loaded..... hmmm it always puzzles me...why the marine can stand to bullets even withouth armor? well....maybe the green and blue armor are just an aditional armor to his default green marine armor, but why then he bleeds when he gets shot?.....maybe the red fluid isnt blood, but its a sort of coolant? wich is supplied for a weird reason in medikits....... then, the doom guy's face isnt full of flood, but red coolant!!!! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

dsm Posted January 6, 2003 Oh and about spiritual armour helmets: These are not real helmets, they're like fata morganas, optical illusions shaped like medieval helmets, but the green light is real. These "dimensional interferences" caused by the gateway are formed of pure energy that has the uncanny ability to cover the body of any mortal creature, man or animal alike, with a thin layer of energy that absorbs a tiny bit of destructive force. The more "spiritual armour" entities that you touch, the more it adds up and makes the invisible layer stronger and more powerful, making it better able to absorb damage. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Johnatone Posted January 7, 2003 here's a thought: what did creatures like the cyberdemon, spider mastermind, and icon of sin do before their technological advances? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Cyberdemon: send out a swarm of tiny flak from its fingertips on the hand where its rocket launcher is now placed. Spider Mastermind: Defensless brain that could do nothing but wobble around in some crater in Hell :-P Icon of Sin: Bigass head that could spawn monsters - the same, except that it couldn't open gateways to Earth before it got enhanced by the human tech. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
