Boom Noir: A bit of fun

One feature of PrBoom+ you may like to know about is it can load custom OpenGL shaders.

 

For a bit of silly fun I put together a "noir" shader that will greyscale everything in the game world except blood and sharp reds, and the sky textures.

 

This is not a palette hack: the status bar, intermission graphics, etc. remain unaffected. But the gameplay will look different.

 

IMPORTANT: You MUST run PrBoom in OpenGL mode (GLBoom) **AND** set your lighting mode to "shaders" in Settings > General > OpenGL options

 

I hope you enjoy for a bit of quick fun.
