I have created widescreen graphics for HACX: Twitch 'n Kill's menus and Photon 'Zooka (Rocket Launcher). I have separated each part into their own WADs. I designed these graphics for HACX 1.2 HACX Widescreen Menu: This WAD changes the TITLEPIC (title screen), INTERPIC (intermission screen), HELP (help screen), and CREDIT (credits screen) graphics to be in 21:9 aspect ratio. I tried to keep changes to the original images to a minimum. It also includes a widescreen status bar. This WAD will only work properly in source ports that support wide screen menu graphics. Tested source ports: GZDoom (works), GLBoom+ (It loads but it is cut off and doesn't look correct, at least with the way I have my GLBoom+ set up) Spoiler Widescreen Menu images Status Bar Download HACX Widescreen Menu: Dropbox HACX Widescreen Photon 'Zooka: This WAD extends the Photon 'Zooka (Rocket Launcher) graphics past a normal 16:9 aspect ratio. This WAD should work in any source port. Tested source ports: GZDoom, GLBoom+ Spoiler Photon 'Zooka comparison gifs Original sprites New extended sprites (Note: the sprites will look slightly different in game due to offsets and such.) Download HACX Widescreen Photon 'Zooka: Dropbox Let me know if there are any bugs or anything I could improve. I'm new to making Doom content and I hope I have done everything correct. Each WAD contains a WADINFO.txt file too. I'm not sure if anyone even plays HACX. How about the cryogun? that one is also widescreen? Thank you! The Cryogun is far enough to the left that it isn't cut off in 16:9 aspect ratio. The Stick (Plasma Rifle) also looks fine in 16:9. Some of the design choices are a little dated by today's standards, but it is still a fun set of 21 levels. I was sad to see that the latest news for Hacx 2.0 was from 2012. I have GZDoom v4.5.0 which is the latest and I'm using the v1.2 IWAD. Dwars Posted July 8, 2021 I tried these assets in PrBoom+UM and Woof! The STBAR included needed to be converted to Doom format to work, but that should be an easy fix for your upload. I fixed the STBAR, thank you for pointing that out. All of the weapons, besides the original Photon 'Zooka, aren't cut off in 16:9; at least for me. (Ok, well, if you don't use the vanilla Doom Status Bar HUD then there is like 1 row of pixels cut off on the reset frame of the Stick at the bottom.) If you play on 21:9, then the Cryogun, Stick, and even my new Photon 'Zooka sprites are cut off. The Kick, Hoig Reznator, and UZI all look good, though. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
