YeOldeFellerNoob Posted February 5, 2022 Not really nostalgia, but the SNES port was the first time I played DOOM... Kind of... I did pirate it and tried running in on Android emulators, which, if you guessed, didn't work well. Then one day, I had the idea of going onto YouTube and see how to play the OG on Android. Since than, I have an unhealthy obsession with DOOM and most of ID's shooters. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
HydroFS02 Posted February 5, 2022 Really have a lot of fond memories with the GBA ports in particular, Remember borrowing the first GBA Doom a lot when I was in school from a friend of the family and being blown away that they managed to do a fairly decent job with the hardware limitations. I got myself a copy of Doom II GBA from eBay later on that I don't own anymore, sadly. Even though it was on a different engine, I was even more impressed with it. Also played a lot of PSX Doom when I was younger and SNES Doom on the ZSNES emulator. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Ludi Posted February 6, 2022 As someone who grew up with the X360 port, I still greatly admire what was done with PSX Doom. It makes me wonder if a Quake port would have been feasible like the similar version of Quake II? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Quake definitely would have been feasible (it was on N64 and Sega Saturn), it just never happened for some reason or another. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

The fact that it was on Saturn at all is incredible. That system could at best do really cool sprite scaling, 3D wasn't really its forte. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Nikku4211 Posted February 7, 2022 The Doom console port I have most memories playing on is the official GBA port. I managed to beat the whole game at school (after I did my work, of course) like this. I played it on the OG GBA, by the way, with the dark screen and crappy lighting conditions, though I did play it on ITYTD. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
