Arrowhead Posted May 17, 2021 (edited) Hello, Over the past 2 months or so, I have been making many duel WADs for my brother and I to play together in LZDOOM local splitscreen deathmatch. Eventually I began accumulating quite a number of maps! These little private maps were then combined and turned into 'FrantikDM'. What is Frantik DM? FrantikDM is a boom format duel map pack. FrantikDM is a full 32 map set. FrantikDM uses Otex1.1, but you do NOT need to load Otex1.1 alongside - everything is in the WAD. FrantikDM is a collection of varied duel maps ranging visually from techbase, to desert, to hell, and more! Maps are designed for fast aggressive gameplay. These levels are intended to be played w/ respawning items. Weapon Stay should also be on. Jumping and crouching are optional - everything in the WAD was designed to be possible without needing to jump. As an odd aside, there are 0 doors in this megaWAD - and there is only 1 elevator. Up to 4 player FFA should also be enjoyable, just keep in mind, this was not designed to be an FFA map pack. A good two thirds of maps should be viable in some way for FFA, one third are probably too small... Here is the file: FrantikDM.7z All feedback is greatly appreciated. I'd love to hear what others think of these duel maps! I'd also love to at some point see a video of 2 people playing a map, that'd be really cool. Yes, I would say a good third of them would be great for upto 4 player FFA, and another third would work alright. One third of the maps will probably be too small for that, though! Hmmm, curious - it almost seems like its having some kind of issue with the 'Boom Switches' lump in Otex1.1. Fortunately everything seems to be working in the usual multiplayer ports! Decay Posted May 18, 2021 There are definitely some really cool maps in this set that deserve a closer look! Like any set, sure there are some less interesting or weaker sets but on the whole for such a large offering this is pretty decent for 1v1 and 4 man FFA.
