Why DoomSlayer beats Raiden ( MGRR ) ( read description )

So I've been seeing posts from sites like vs battles wiki and gamerant stating that Raiden from Metal Gear Rising can beat the Doom Slayer and that the Slayer gets stomped by him. Well I'm here to debunk this.

 

Raiden Strength: Can throw a Metal Gear Ray into the air and cut it before it falls, casually took on Jetstream Sam after he got his cyborg upgrades, tossed around the Metal Gear Exclusus with his new body, and can go toe to toe with Senator Armstrong who can destroy the Exclusus just by punching into it.

 

Raiden Speed: Raiden's speed is great when talking about attacking speed, he can casually block bullets with his sword and can slash so fast in blade mode to cut through certain weak spots of his foes while casually slowing down time. His Travel speed is something different though, he can't travel that fast but he is able to do things like play hopscotch with rockets casually in the air.

 

Raiden Durability: He is able to take hits from Senator Armstrong like stated before can destroy MG Exlusus just by punching, Armstrong can also body JetStream Sam who beat Raiden in their first encounter when Raiden had the old Cyborg body. Raiden can take hits from the MG Exlusus, Sam, Sundowner, and can also survive falling down from the air.

 

Weapons and Abilities Raiden: Raiden has the High-Frequency Marumasa blade which can ignore conventional durability as it can slice through the atoms of its target at high speeds. He also has side weapons like Rocket launchers, homing missiles, emp grenades, and flash grenades. DoomSlayer Strength: Can casually take down the Titan Champion will basically his bare hands which was stated to be the most powerful demon/ titan in all of hell and was immortal and it's skin cannot be penetrated by any means, yet the Slayer took it down and this Titan was just as if not bigger than a skyscraper, can take down the Icon Of Sin which can be a universe buster if given the time with very strong armor on it, Can beat the Khan Makr by simply punching the yellow orb in its chest and the Khan Makr was stated to be invulnerable and DSL ignored that. Took down Samur Makr who was stated to be leagues above Khan Makr, and took down Davoth which was stated to be an equal to the Slayer and created the doom multiverse.

 

DoomSlayer Speed: His Travel speed can be around 60-70 MPH ( maybe more with haste ), can combat Khan Makr which can casually travel through different universes or timelines in an instant ( then just refer back to what I said in his strength to get a better idea ) His attacking speed is something else as he can just casually kill everything in his verse just by punching ( he can use guns to though )

 

DoomSlayer Durability: Took hits from the Titan Champion, Icon Of Sin, Davoth, Samur, and from in game enemies like Marauders, Archvilles, Doom Hunters etc. His Praetor Suit makes him very hard to injure let alone kill, suit allows him to tank attacks that have the heat of the surface of the sun, and is stated to be immune to human weapons and takes attacks from demons on the daily ( and no don't say things like oh the suit can be broken as shown in the fight like hell trailer, like no, you can clearly see that this was done for show off purposes, suit also looks a lil cooler too, besides that was just in doom 2016 anyway things have changed ).

 

DoomSlayer Weapons and Abilities: The Slayer has a massive array of weapons, Plasma Rife, Chainsaw, BFG 9,000, Super Shotgun, Combat Shotgun, Heavy Cannon, Chaingun, Ballista, Rocket Launcher, Frag Grenades, Flame belch, ice bomb, blood punch, crucible, and sentinal hammer. For powerups he has Haste, Quad Damage and Invunrablilty ( Berzerk doesn't really count as he doesn't need it to do all the crazy things in the lore ).

So who wins?

 

Well I think its obviously the Slayer and he outclasses Raiden in so many categories, Raiden also outclasses DSL in attacking speed, and while Raiden's blade is rather unique and impressive for ignoring conventional durability something like that isn't quite enough to get through DSL's praetor suit, plus don't forget about DSL's weapon attachments like meathoot, lock on rockets, microwave beam etc. DSL clearly has more variety than Raiden does and Titans and Khan and Samur Makr put things like Metal Gear Rays and the Exclusus and maybe even Armstrong to shame. But what do you all think, that is just my conclusion and I really just wanted to debunk this shit as people just keep saying things like " oh Raiden is stronger and he can ignore DSL durability and he's faster and always outclasses him" like no, people were clearly being bias towards Raiden here.

Sometimes i think about stuff like this and if it could still happened had Death Battle never starred Doomguy and pit him again Chief, nor had fans tried to meme Doomguy with some webcomics or that one copypasta.

Either way, at least Doomguy's moveset potential grow that you could figure out ways to make him work in Smash.

It depends on how close Raiden is to the Doomguy, the BFG needs a bit until it is fired.

I'm gonna say: i like to think that Death Battle wont make another Doomguy vs Master Chief video out of the assumption that modern Doom was influenced by the first video and is intentionally made around power level arguements and fanservice.

As if it felt "too intentional" for the reaction.

Like how the Hello Neighboor dev kept messaging Game Theory, in hopes he'd make a video out of his game.

The opposites of either these two being Hideki Kamiya disliking a DB video because he said Bayonetta is stronger than Dante and Toby Fox directly telling MatPat to fuck off.

 

Power level aside, there's also the "Doomguy is the most tragic character" which reminds me of that one TLOU2 Ellie tweet.
