How to pull up console in Crispy Doom?

I can't seem to find this anywhere. I tried the regular ~ key and that doesn't work. I've did a google search. This must be easy to do and I'm just missing something.

AFAIK Crispy Doom (and Chocolate) don't have a console because the original DOOM executable didn't have one. The drop-down console was added in Quake, and retroactively added to Doom in ports like GZDoom and Eternity. Configuration options in Cripsy Doom are made from another executable called "Crispy Doom Setup" and cheat codes are entered right in the game.

Ohhhhh, well no wonder. I was starting to think that might be the case but wanted to know for sure.
