Max Cady Posted May 28, 2021 Hi guys. Is there existing files that you can download to recreate DOOM like it was before it's release date (Alpha and Beta textures of maps)? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Korozive Posted May 29, 2021 I can't help you with your question but where did you get that Hud? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Vaeros Posted May 29, 2021 You can download IDTEX Texture pack from Realm667. https://www.realm667.com/index.php/en/texture-stock-mainmenu-152-97360/doom-style-mainmenu-153-87237#info-16 6 minutes ago, Korozive said: I can't help you with your question but where did you get that Hud? I think that's from Doom Delta. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Gez Posted May 29, 2021 You can download the alpha and beta versions of Doom, and open them with SLADE, that way you can get the graphics and textures. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Gez Posted May 29, 2021 Yes. But they're not very interesting, except of course as history pieces for Doom nerds. Obviously the game in these alpha versions is extremely unfinished (that's what being in alpha means, after all), and sudden crashes are to be expected. Cf. the articles there for more information: https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Versions_of_Doom_and_Doom_II#Pre-release_builds 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Thx! I have my reasons. I just want to make a video. I'm just brainstorming. It's not for now. I will recreate id software in 3D. The brainstorming for what I want to make is complicated. It's a visual documentary of the production of DOOM back in 92-93. Romero help me a bit and I'm reading the black books. You will see an animation of Doomed in my video like it was back in the day. (Not Redoomed) It's recreated with photoshop. Every colors are respected and the interface is respected by the pixels. I couldn't run the emulator cause it doesnt work perfectly. There is no time limit, it's just a long term small project. I have to learn Blender 3D program first. :-) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
