source port archive?

Recommended Posts

i'm currently trying to get original source ports/ launchers like doom-it, and doom 95 without the cd to work because i don't own those copies, only steam. is there any good way to find dead official source ports (i.e doom95) and discontinued source ports like reMooD SMMU and MBF?

Doom95Portable is a decent slightly modded version of Doom95 that runs on modern windows, if you're into that sort of thing

1. i am (trying) using a vm for doom95 and most of the older source ports like that. 2 windows detects most source ports as a threat personally i would trust it but i am currently trying to get a win 95 vm up and running because i'm too lazy to fuck with windows 10.

Yes, you can run it. Windows is dumb at that stuff.

It thinks everything that is unknown is a threat.

As long as you aren't trying to run some sketchy shit from some shady site and whatnot, you should be golden. But if you want good reviews on if something is a threat there are plenty of websites to do that, that are ran by people and not machine

well virtualbox couldn't run chex at 30 fps on high detail max screen size with status bar mbf had no sound because i used too new of a virtualized soundcard  i think, doom 95 was glitchy smmu worked mostly fine then something stopped music or sounds from playing, if i use soundblaster the sounds and gameplay get desynced. dosbox is starting to seem like a better option. i got mbf to run at max res and normal screen size at approximately 30 fps. it was fun setting up windows 95 but it was dissappointing to have programs not work with the limited virtual hardware selection
