My fav source port was Boom, but now it sucks, because its OS is no longer widely used.

My next fav source port was Doom Legacy, back in the day when it was called 'doom3.exe'

But then, it began to suck, too. Then came the Doomsday Engine, but at some point it
started to develop a certain obesity and sucked, too. I switched to ZDoom and -you guessed it-
Randy quit and it was no longer supported. I am really afraid, that Graf will loose interest in
GZ, if I'd call that my next fav source port. So NO, I do not have a fav Doom source port!  OK?.

Mouse movement is fine with original doom(2).exe! Just use novert.
