They aren't listed because the author might be trickled into posting again. But in recent times this has waned.

EDIT: Apparently the author is still working on it given the 2021 fixtures.

Find here.

Wow thanks man. Mystery solved!

Oh, one thing that may be of interest here that is tangential to the history of Eternal Doom is a follow-on project Team TNT did originally called COVERS but later changed to "The Return." There was a desire both to make use of the assets developed for Eternal Doom as well as showcase the limits of what Boom/PrBoom could do. If memory serves, simultaneous to the release, assets from Eternal Doom were made available as a standalone resource pack.

another tangent regarding tnt and incomplete projects... they teased a huge story writeup for a project called "Ragnorok" and a Rich Nagel song embedded in the page (can't remember if it's a rehash from another project or original for Ragnorok), but no other assets were worked on to my knowledge. Presumably they were going for something similar in scope to Eternal but this is about where the team fractured/dissolved and lost wind, alas!

Yes, this is true - in fact the interview I mentioned earlier in the thread with TNTFatal covers Ragnarok as well. I don't have a copy unfortunately.

Sadly I don't have anything else about this, except an ancient excerpt from an IRC chat with Bob Evans (it doesn't really say anything particularly interesting). I think I recall seeing early screenshots at one point. If I recall correctly there was an axe weapon and some lava effects that were vaguely Quake-like, and lava flows. From what I remember, the idea would have looked and played something like REKKR did at least in its core essence.

But these are just distant and hazy recollections from long, long ago I'm afraid. Others may jump in and correct me if they remember more from around that time.

The point of a wiki is that anyone can edit, so yes :) It'll show your ip address tho, so register if you don't want that (it's quick anyway?)

Excellent thread! I love Eternal Doom and there's lots of cool info here. I found something that might be of interest - an old thread where Rich Nagel talks about the history of some of the songs he wrote for Eternal Doom

REKKR made me think of Ragnarok when it came out, too.

Man, TeamTNT's website teased a lot of future projects that ended up never happening.  Nowadays, of course, major team projects being obliterated by development hell is regrettably common.  But TeamTNT had so many massive successful releases that you never would have picked them to be the ones writing checks that they couldn't cash.

I'm thinking about writing another , uhm... thing, this time putting together history of TeamTNT, if anyone wants it, that is.

Right now I'm in looking through all that archived usenet stuff. I might find some non-well known information there.

As far as Ragnarok is concerned, Ty talked about it a lot in the 5 Years of Doom interview.

It was started sometime after the release of Icarus and was always intended to be a mod/total conversion. All-new textures, sprites, levels, music, monsters, different palette,... Also a lot of DeHackEd stuff.

By the time of the interview, 25% of the work was done in the planning a designing stages. Original release schedule was around 1997, but it was later pushed to 1999.

At this point, it was going to make full use of the new Boom engine's capabilities.

In January 1999, development was put on hold, as the team decided to focus on their new project, OGRE (the Open Gaming Resource Engine). Ragnarok was going to be restarted and developed specifically for OGRE.

And then in 2007: "We begin a permanent hold... Update 14 Oct 2007: Actually we quit doing anything on this years ago and even used some of the "spare  parts" in Daedalus.  Don't plan to ever see this one."

At some point they released the first 8 chapters of the story. You can check it out on their site.

Haha, I'd forgotten about that. Ironic that one project was development helled by another project that, as far as I know, also crumbled into obscurity.

More edits to OP: Added various info about the ED music, from the thread @matador linked.

Later I intend to add information about post EDIII release stuff i.e. Rich Nagel's DeHackEd patch for EDIII, Eternal Deathmatch, ED Soundtrack release.

Also a section about what original TE members did once the teams merged (including EDIV). Stay tuned!

That would be great. I actually wanted to become a wiki contributor, but I thought my english skills aren't up to the professional standard it has.

Be bold, don’t shy away from contributing.

The highlight is mine.
