Yeah, I know a large portion of those users aren't active, but I still think's it's cool the site passed that milestone.

Of course the people who aren't active anymore count, there are people with 100+ posts and many contributions who aren't active anymore lol. 30,000 people over the course of 23 years is pretty cool for such an old game!

I wonder if banned members contribute towards the count? I'd say they definitely shouldn't.

if i had motivation and wasnt so depressed all the time i could mirror the idgames archive, and make it more user friendly with the ability to comment and whatnot, but until then i enjoy plain ol' ftp lol

Hmmm, this makes me think: do we have any way of guessing how many active users there are on DW in total? I mean, while one couldn't reach any reasonably accurate colclusion based on the front page member statistics alone, there are a lot of little known or semi-hidden features on here (reputation pages, staff page, team pages etc...), so I was wondering if anyone here knows of some more detailed statistics?

I remember the Doom wiki (I was incredibly bored one day so I decided to read it lol) stated that the Selfie Stick made a lot of people think it would turn doomworld into the "Eternal September" with the large influx of people. Is that even actually true?

Well, aside from the Selfie Stick thing, the Newdoom forums also shut down on that day. So that might've had some impact on the increased traffic.
