"DOOM.CMD" map idea generator

this tiny, crappy page will generate a descriptor, two types of places, and two colors. i designed it for myself and it has its issues (sometimes it won't spit out a full color definition, the method used here is extremely poor lol), but you still may get a kick - or better yet, inspiration - out of it. i'll likely add more words to it over time.

Oh huh, mapping prompt generator- @Bridgeburner56 we ought to use this for our speedmapping sessions! Either everyone could get their own prompt, or one can be chosen for the whole group.

 

Hopefully you keep working on it, I think it's a fantastic idea. I'll put this in Doom General as I think it will get better exposure there.

oh excellent! i had branched this off of a previous generator that i put together based on Oblique Strategies (having used them all to death i needed some new ones in rotation), lovely to see another take on this. i hadn't considered adding anything related to playstyle since that tends to be emergent while i map, but that's an excellent idea.

Sometimes, you get some good ones. (In the run I did: Soul of Ventralis, Hearing Diablo, Inhabited Wormhole, For No Fearful Hatred, Plagued Rottens.)

 

Sometimes, you get not-so-good ones. (In the run I did: Any Bottling of No Crow, Every Military Purified Bazaar, Beneath Every Nukage Crow, Felt Doorway, Suchos Sum Canadensis Laboratory.)

 

Bonus: Hover over a word and click it. It'll roll a new one without rerolling the rest of the phrase.

I like the idea. I had "dangerous", "MAP:29 go fuck yourself" and "parking garage", so I made a map.

Those "not-so-good" ones would sound right at home in Back to Saturn X. Or, by extension, a Guided by Voices album.
