For example, it's unclear what will happen to those who are medically unable to receive the vaccine, or to receive it safely (there are no compatibility/pre-diagnostic tests yet, after all). What will happen once such tests do exist? Is it unreasonable to wait until they do exist? As I said, some people look more closely at their cat food's ingredients than they do at what they mainline without question. Victims of side-effects also seem to be in a legal limbo as of now, akin to victims of terrorism or criminal activities: you can expect little more than emergency care, and then any long-term stuff is on you. Hope you have a life insurance policy that covers that... But only the future will tell, and then certain people might have to take some of their stronger-worded opinions back. The information about any vaccine's ingredients is available upon request- if people have allergies or potential interactions it's up to them to read carefully, that's not the government/maker's fault. If I've got a peanut allergy and eat a clearly labeled peanut butter cookie, I'm not about to blame whoever made the cookie for my idiocy. Some people will, but they are unlikely to be successful in a suit. There was still a lot of human studies and trials before the vaccine became widely available, and the results of those trials are available. The general idea of vaccines is that the people who are unable to receive it are protected by the people who are- that's how herd immunity works. You can already see cases clearly dropping in the US (provided the information is accurate- it could be that testing is down now as well that the worst of it is over, knowing how quickly the US likes to forget and move on). 5 Share this post Link to post

Some countries are enabling what I call "Star of David" or "Mark of Cain" policies that pretty much openly mark the unvaccinated. Comparing being unvaccinated against COVID to being deemed an "undesirable" during the Shoah - or any type of discrimination based on ethnicity for that matter - is incredibly offensive and inappropriate. Please do not do that. It is not "shaming (or worse)" to make sure that a easily-transmissible virus (that is already mutating) does not spread further. -_- Edited July 2, 2021 by Rudolph 11 Share this post Link to post
Maribo Posted July 2, 2021 I got my first shot of Moderna last weekend. Couldn't really get anything other than J&J around here until a couple months ago, and I've been waiting because lines have been long and there are people who certainly needed it more than I do. My dad and mom also got it at the same time. My upper arm/lower shoulder area was SO sore the day after, feel like there was a sharp pin being jammed into it any time I'd raise it significantly. My mom wasn't sore at all and my dad was only a little sore. Sucked dude. Getting 2nd shot after about ~28 days from the first. 1 Share this post Link to post
