MFG38 Posted July 3, 2021 (edited) The only sports I watch is eSports (if that qualifies), and even then, I don't follow the scene actively. I'll be lucky to watch a single eSports tournament in a year. Edited July 3, 2021 by MFG38 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted July 3, 2021 I watch Rugby League (NRL). As a Canberra fan I'm frequently disappointed. But the Blues have won Origin this year in two impressive games, so that was cool. I've also watched numerous MMA fights, but my interest in that waxes and wanes. EDIT almost a year later: Sorry Lee, I only see AFL in very limited doses.. it's a bit much to follow! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

I've been following them since the mid-80s, when ESPN broadcast them in late night here in the states. I remember watching Hawthorn and Essendon go at it in the Grand Final - that's what hooked me, but I'm a Carlton barracker now. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Murdoch Posted July 3, 2021 Not really anymore. Used to watch Rugby but the cost of subscription to catch it has become not too expensive per se but too expensive to really justify. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

[McD] James Posted July 4, 2021 I watch pro wrestling, MMA, and Starcraft. Love hockey, tennis, and basketball as well, but can never find the time for them. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Jello Posted July 4, 2021 I really don't. Occasionally I will watch football (American), and I enjoy it. But I just don't enjoy watching other people play a game. If I'm not playing, then I don't really give a toss. It's the same reason that I don't watch Grandmaster Chess tournaments, or esports. I'm not playing, I don't care. Football I will watch on occasion because I played it in middle school, so I have a fondness for it. But I really couldn't care less which team wins the Superbowl. I do really like watching snowboarding though. I don't want to break my neck going 60 miles an hour down a mountain on a slippery plank, but it is enjoyable to watch. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
leejacksonaudio Posted July 4, 2021 Just got finished watching the IndyCar race at Mid-Ohio. Josef Newgarden won for Team Penske. It was Penske's first win of the season. Good, solid win for Newgarden. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Seeker_of_Truth Posted July 5, 2021 I watch baseball on a regular basis. I'll watch other sports to if I happen to see it on, but I don't follow any others regularly. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
leejacksonaudio Posted July 7, 2021 Getting ready to watch Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals. I'm hoping against hope that Montreal pulls out the impossible comeback and takes the series, mainly because I'm still pissed that Tampa Bay beat my Dallas Stars last year. ;) 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

leejacksonaudio Posted July 8, 2021 Well, damn. Tampa Bay wins game 5 by a score of 1-0 and takes the 2020-21 Stanley Cup, 4 games to 1. Montreal just got outplayed, plain and simple. They looked like dwarves out there compared to the Lightning. They got the crap beat out of them, even in a one goal game. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Sad really, I was hoping they would come back like they did w/ Toronto. Oh well, there's always next season. Go 'nucks! :) 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Phobus Posted July 8, 2021 I’m British, so international football (soccer) is basically unavoidable. As a result, I’ve embraced it as a biannual excuse to drink regularly in front of a TV. England making it through to the final of the Euros last night was a pretty big deal! Otherwise I’ve got no interest in professional sport or eSports and don’t watch any of them. I don’t really watch live TV at all, and indeed haven’t set up any means of doing so at home. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Hellbent Posted July 8, 2021 (edited) Currently watching the tour de france. Pretty great one so far, though Pogecar's lead makes the GC race a little less exciting than the rest of the race. But if Tadej were to crash out then dang, what a GC race we'd have as 2nd through 6th place are like 30 seconds of each other. I don't see Tadej getting into trouble, though. He's a smart bike rider. The only other sport I watch is the World Cup. I therefore answered 'no' on the poll. Edited July 8, 2021 by Hellbent 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
leejacksonaudio Posted July 10, 2021 (edited) Watching Aussie Rules Football on Fox Sports 2. Hawthorn is hosting Fremantle from their Tasmania base. The Hawks are trailing the Dockers late in the third quarter, 5.6.36 to 9.12.66. If Freo wins, they're in the top 8 for good for the season. Final score: Hawthorn loses to Fremantle, 6.10.46 to 16.12.108 at Full Time. Edited July 10, 2021 by leejacksonaudio 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Kinetic Posted August 31, 2021 (edited) I live in the US, and love watching the NFL, which is American Football. I also watch the NBA playoffs when it rolls around, but not the regular season. ESports don't interest me (quite frankly I'm hesitant to even label these competitive gaming tournaments as sports since they involve so little physical activity), but probably because I only play Doom and Doom doesn't really have any competitive gaming scene that I know of (and I wouldn't want to be a part of it if there was one). Don't care for Golf or Tennis or Soccer or Hockey or Track or the Olympics in any way, shape, or form though. P.S. Tom Brady can stick it. Sergeant G Posted September 1, 2021 In the past I watched NASCAR, which hardly counts. Some football but not anymore. When the Olympics are on, I've been known to watch Tae Kwon Do and Judo. I don't watch sports regularly though. Women's MMA and some boxing occasionally. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
TwinBeast Posted September 1, 2021 I wanted to watch the women's ice hockey world championship, but don't have a tv and couldn't watch it online (would have needed to subscribe/pay to a channel to watch it). Watched the men's ice hockey world championship earlier, that I could watch online, different channel that I have a subscription to already. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
yakfak Posted September 1, 2021 I got hooked on watching sports climbing imo I have insanely high gravity and would need a ladder to do any of this stuff but its so satisfying watching people figure out routes, thinking about how tight they have to cling onto the holds, marvelling at how people just turn themselves upside down without getting much of a surface to kick off etc 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

A Facebook memory came up recently where i joked about watching my friend play a golf sim on his ps3. It was an accurate and realistic sim cause i was just as bored out of my skull watching it as the real thing. Someone needs to start a full contact golf league. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Azuris Posted September 1, 2021 (edited) No, never. I have no thrill or excitment by watching it, it is boring for me. It is the same as watching let's plays. Edit: I liked watching Takeshis Castle, maybe this counts somehow as Sports :P Edited September 1, 2021 by Azuris 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chopkinsca Posted September 1, 2021 I don't watch any, but I can see the appeal. There is a park with a field nearby where I live and sometimes they have games going on there. It's a fun place to go for a walk and just sit and take in whatever the people are playing. I remember my mental health crisis in the mid-2000's. I couldn't sleep because my mind was so awful. I turned the tv on and found a hockey game was a neutral topic for my brain to absorb. So there was that. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Just make it absolutely absurd and nonsensical. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Master O Posted September 2, 2021 (edited) I've been watching Minor League Cricket on Willow TV's Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/willow Willow is currently streaming it free. Minor League Cricket is the first USA-based T20 Cricket League. It's going to be the prelude to Major League Cricket, which is set to start in the USA in 2023.
