I remember there was an FPS on the Game Boy Advance that used the Doom engine (or at least, the engine of GBA doom). I seem to recall it being fairly well received here, as it was designed for that console rather than ported to it ("Boss levels" in GBA Doom were just "MOAR BARONS")

Unfortunately I don't remember much more about it, beyond 3D-rendered weapons with that turn-of-the-century plastic-ey look, and lots of dark grey textures.

There were two, one which used the actual Doom tech, and the other using the Southpaw Engine, which was also used in the 2005 FPS Ice Nine (And Duke Nukem Advance)

Oh, that's Dark Arena, which was build on the Jaguar Doom code.

I remember Dark Arena. One of the devs scouted this very place for mappers for the game way back when; I remember I sent them a map I'd made to be told "great, cool, fax us a signed copy of this NDA then we can chat!" -- I did, then heard absolutely nothing back. Eyyyyy.

(Yes, fax. This was early 2000's, not far outta the '90s I believe)

Rough Waves by Khodoque runs on GZDoom.

One day I will stop being lazy and actually make a forum thread about this project here.

A retro-styled FPS game that is a love letter to obscure 90s FPS games, amiga games, as well as many old Game Maker FPS games that led to the discovery of Doom in the first place!

Explore many strange and abstract worlds, populated by equally unusual but hostile beings. Not simple enemies either, each enemy type possesses many unique traits, abilities, and behaviors.

Collect objectives to beat each level, while being on the lookout for many secrets within, and avoiding the tricks and traps you encounter.
