The solution is simple. Open your pwad with UDB and then specify the texture pack in Add Resource ... However, there is a drawback. While the custom textures can then be used in the editor and thus are specified during the mapping process, they are not really present in the map, just the names. Therefore, in order to play your pwad, the texture pack must be loaded alongside your pwad. To import the textures into your pwad you have to use Slade3. For a pwad made for the original map format follow this tutorial. For a pwad made for the gzdoom engine, copy/paste the textures between TX_ markers (TX_START, TX_END).
