Your record amount of maps played in a day

Tell me your personal record of how much maps of a single or multiple wads you were able to play in a single day!

 

My own record is 20 maps while I was playing Scythe for the first time. I was having an awesome time and fun with the wad, and even I was surprised with it, since I started playing Doom recently and I can take quite some time to finish a megawad.

I don't keep count, but I played through all of Congestion 64 in a few minutes.

If Deathmatch counts, there was a 60 map wad compiled for doom’s 25th birthday back in 2018. The server had like 20-30 people in it for 12 hours straight, and I was there for about 4 of those hours.. I think I played each map at least 3-4 times.
 

That was probably my biggest Doom binge day in recent memory as far as actually playing is concerned!

My last binge session was 28 maps with the WSS #2. We played for some 5 hours and the megawad was getting harder and harder and I was dead by the end of it. The megawad was NOVA: The Birth.

 

I think my actual longest binge session was my 24-hour Doom Marathon. I played:

• Scythe 2
• Whispers of Satan
• DBP03: Forest Swords
• DBP04: Xenomorph Base
• The Darkening
• CABIN

Didn't finish WoS and Scythe 2, but I'm pretty sure I reached well over 40 maps that day. That was a fun session, but the last 3 hours were devastating. I miss those times. Now I'm old guy, can barely play 2 hours straight.

In a single session. All of Doom 2 as I was doing speedruns of a full game run for like half a month.

In a single day, I was going to try to do Doom 1, 2, and Final Doom back to back to back to back without dying, but then gived up on the concept partway and just played em pistol start normally. This is what led me to try to speedrun doom 2 since I wanted to do a single run deathless and then thought why not do a full game run and then that took a month.

I have no damned idea what the actual total might be. I probably played through an entire megawad a few times back in the day. I have never pulled an Endless or a Doomkid and tried the 24 hour marathon. These days id rather map or make textures and my play time is either playtesting or I'll play a few maps here and there kinda thing.

It's not hard for me to finish familiar 32 megawads in one sitting. Doom 1 or 2 could take from 2 hours to 5-6 or less if you are a speedrunner.

But I haven't tried to do a marathon ever. I should make a list of maps (maybe all of Doom 1/2/Plutonia/TNT). I can short of.. speedrun them

For DWMaster Endurance Tournament #2, I played 20 maps of Kama Sutra in one sitting (I died on Map 20 and decided to not keep going because I had already played Doom from midnight to 6 AM Sunday morning), followed by 2 maps of Sigil (I died on E3M2 and that was the end of my run, per the rules of the contest).

 

But I generally don't play more than a few maps in a day, and it would be a very rare day that would see me reach 10 maps and beyond.

I was once involved in a charity stream where we played Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Evilution, Plutonia, and all of Doom 3 over more than 2 days. I was not the only player (there were 7 of us taking shifts) so I can't remember how much I personally completed, but all I did for 2.5 days was play and watch Doom and I'll never top that.

I played through maps 1-29 of Scythe on uv in one day (practically one sitting) and was too scared to face map 30. The next day I finished map 30. Besides that I don't have much patience for megawads.
