Senile Samurai Posted August 10, 2021 This is my first topic in a while. I recently read the great late Ty Halderman’s interview for Five years of Doom. There he mentioned that a couple of the Casali’s rejected maps originally intended for Evilution ended up in Plutonia. I was trying to figure out which maps they were. So far, I was thinking Plutonia Map 28: Sewers was the most out of place map in the Iwad; it’s not a bad map at all, one of my favourites in Plutonia, but doesn’t sit right thematically in the episode or Iwad. So this map I thought could’ve been originally a contribution for Evilution. I believe this was originally supposed to be map 22 of Evilution. I believe when ID were doing quality control, they thought Map 20: Central Processing, Map 21: Administration Centre then followed by Sewers would be misplaced because of the huge size of the levels. I then believe it was decided that the Sewers Map had to go but decided it should be replaced with a level which has a similar sewage theme, here comes Habitat. And there is lots to suggest that Habitat was a rushed map which would fit in the timeline of things. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
StarSpun5000 Posted August 14, 2021 I kimda feel bad for Christopher B (the guy who made habitat) it seems that he was a last resort to quickly rush out a map at the last minute. And another thing, he made the first level of icarus alien vanguard, shuttlecraft, and its actually really good. Its we'll detailed and we'll lit and its pretty fun. A shame he never made anymore maps after that. It seems he had potential. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

The first map of Icarus was great indeed. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
