baja blast rd. Posted August 12, 2021 Results so far, if anyone is wondering. 93 people are included in the tally at this point (before Arrowhead's post). I'll just drop this here instead of in the OP for now, because it'll be formatted differently at the end anyway and I'd rather results not influence future contributions. TheNoob_Gamer Posted August 12, 2021 I'm glad to see Eternity gets such a respectable number :) 3 Share this post Link to post

KeaganDunn Posted August 12, 2021 (edited) GZDoom: 4 DSDA-Doom (Boom/MBF/MBF21): 4 GLBoom-Plus (Boom/MBF): 1 Zandronum (ZDoom, I use just for multiplayer): 1 Doom Retro (Boom/MBF): 1 Crispy Doom (limit-removing): 1 Woof (Boom/MBF/MBF21): 1 EDIT: I just read that there had to be up to three ports. facepalm Edited August 12, 2021 by Dunn (& Dunn) 7 Share this post Link to post
antares031 Posted August 12, 2021 DSDA-Doom - 7 Eternity - 1 GZDoom - 1 I do use other source ports as well, but I only use them for special reasons, such as using ChocoRenderLimits for vanilla doom stress test, ZDaemon/Zandronum for multiplayer, etc. 4 Share this post Link to post
Korp Posted August 12, 2021 GZDoom: 6 Zandronum: 2 Chocolate Doom: 1 Mods are fun :P 1 Share this post Link to post
cannonball Posted August 12, 2021 Currently it is; DSDA-doom - 8 Chocolate doom - 1 I have recently moved over from pr-boom plus to DSDA so this is probably the most accurate breakdown. I do have gzdoom on my laptop but rarely (if ever use it because I haven’t really had the time to play mods that require it, same with Eternity though I really need to play heartland). 1 Share this post Link to post
Firedust Posted August 12, 2021 Zdoom: 6 I use it literally for everything except slaughtermaps (because some of those make my framerate drop to like 5 fps) and mapsets requiring gzdoom prboom: 2 Gzdoom: 1 1 Share this post Link to post
ketmar Posted August 12, 2021 k8vavoom: 9 (of course; but i'm indeed using it for *all* maps ;-) Spoiler offtopic: 10 hours ago, SilverMiner said: but it handles Boom wall scrollers in some weird way if you don't report it, i can't fix it. please, report! ;-) 5 Share this post Link to post
GoneAway Posted August 12, 2021 If you're going to group woof / pooch and dsda-doom / prboom+, I think it would make sense to group crispy / choco for the final counts. 6 Share this post Link to post
Crusader No Regret Posted August 12, 2021 PrBoom+ - 6 GZDoom - 3 Just familiarity. Favored a port that can record vanilla compatible demos; never mind that I'm not really grinding speedrun demos these days. PrBoom+ is my general go-to with GZDoom there for stuff that requires a ZDoom derivative or when I want to play with the -ressurect console command. 0 Share this post Link to post

Valboom Posted August 12, 2021 (edited) 22 minuti fa, Swalzi ha detto: Croccante : 6 Woof! : 1 DSDA-Doom : 1 Eternità : 1 Solo 3 porte sorgente (massimo) Edited August 12, 2021 by Valboom 1 Share this post Link to post
BCHQ Posted August 12, 2021 (edited) GZDoom 7 prBoom+ 2 I actually prefer the prBoom+ look and would switch to it full time if it counted Lost Souls and resurrected monsters. But so far I'm only using it for super large maps. Edited August 12, 2021 by BCHQ 0 Share this post Link to post
Ch0wW Posted August 12, 2021 Odamex: 4, since I'm coding stuff on it quite regularly. Zdaemon: 2, although I plan to bring it back to 3 after some sort of project that's planned very soon. Crispy-Doom: 3, but only for demos or MP demos. However I'm also looking at DSDA-Doom and its source for some time already, it's looking very promising for full heretic/hexen support :) 0 Share this post Link to post

lokbustam257 Posted August 12, 2021 LZDoom: 4 Woof: 2 Doom Retro: 3 (i use lzdoom instead of gzdoom since that port boot up slower than my machine) 0 Share this post Link to post
Ralphis Posted August 12, 2021 Odamex: 8 points GZDoom: 1 point I have many ports installed but 99%+ of my time playing Doom, either single player OR multiplayer, is on Odamex. I will rarely use GZ if it's to play a wad specifically built for it. I use Eternity and Zandronum as well when a particular wad (either sp or mp) calls for it, but not nearly enough to put them on this list. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dopefish08 Posted August 12, 2021 PrBoom+/UMAPINFO fork: 7 - for playing vanilla/Boom/MBF compatible maps without fancy graphics and unnecessary bug fixes. Zandronum: 2 - because my PC does not handle GZDoom 0 Share this post Link to post
