Doomworld banned me!

What's this? when trying to access DW using "Deutsche Glasfaser" from Germany as provider,
I can't access - and see only the DW-"BANNED" - site. Using other provider / proxy solves this, but hey,
"Deutsche Glasfaser" isn't sooo bad...

Hmm.. if I had to guess, maybe your IP was in a range that was banned? Hopefully someone more experienced will know what happened..

Well, there was a German who got perma banned here not so long ago, so perhaps? ;)

Either it's what Doomkid said or you may have gotten temp-banned as a result of a warning. If you're no longer having issues accessing the site I'd say it'd likely be the latter, however I can't really confirm that.

He said he used a proxy/other ISP and could access it, so probably not a tempban. Was probably some sort of spambot/IP ban that he just unfortunately happened to match, as if it were an account deal, it'd either have just coincidentally expired when he switched his connection, or he'd have still been banned.

This is the result of an IP ban.

 

If it were something as trivial as a generic spam bot flood that happened months or years ago, I'd clear it for you.

 

However, it's a recent addition meant to deal with a specific user who was directly harassing other members, and given the rather extreme nature of at least one of the incidents, I'm not sure the ban will be so easily removed.

 

This will need further discussion, so I'm going to close the thread for now. I'll send you a private message with the result later this week (or you can send me a private message with any other concerns in the meantime).
