Acceptable to borrow MIDI tracks?

Hey I'm just wondering the general stance on borrowing MIDI tracks from existing projects. If I'm making a level pack and want to take a few dank tracks from Eviternity or Ancient Aliens, is that pretty common or is it frowned upon?

It's about as common as common gets! As long as you make sure you properly credit the MIDI author in your wad's text file and release thread, I can't think of anyone here that would object to seeing their work spread around. The same goes for custom sprites and textures, etc.

It's definitely OK to borrow a midi just be sure to return it.

Note that some composers prefer that you don’t use their work in other wads if their compositions is for a project that hasn’t been released yet. They will usually write that in a txt file etc. Other than that there shouldn’t be any problems.

Best to credit whoever made the MIDI (if possible) when you take it.
