just started with it. i updated my space cats with the newer/updated beasts stuff (monsters,sprites,textures,actors) and added a new skill level "beast" (ultra violence + fast monsters; monsters have/do 25% less hp/damage). now i will make a 5 Maps episode based on this skill level (/fast monsters). Space Cats is a pretty fun package to work with. Just wanna do a few more maps with the stuff i made until now. The beasts are upgraded and i added the (updated) Bastyber Boss Fight and will add the Hellrose Queen Boss next (the Flower Boss from the Tangraan Campaign). Still need to update her and her arena.

Then Space Cats should be complete. Thats stuff that is floating in the code without use. Just wanna give it a bit more love.

But will take some time.

Awesome! I've been eyeing space cats for some time so will definitely give the entire package a whirl once you drop the final campaign!

well, then you should already try it out. its already complete. the upcoming stuff is just some extra stuff because i want to. there are already almost 40 maps and 4 classes. go play it :3

There will be another Upgrade- Space Cats Saga 2.0+

-fixed all melee attacks; they feel much better to use now
-alot new effects
-changes/fixes to almost every gun
-1 new secret Map
-2 new Boss Arenas
-new cats to pat
-new textures

-new difficulty "Fast"
UV + fast Monsters

-new difficulty "Beast"
UV + replaces Doom Demons with a Beast Variant (i made complete new Beasts for this; every demon got a replacement except Cybie and Mommy cause of the hitboxes)

this will be another big update to Space Cats but it will take some time :3 already made tons of fixes since december and added alot of new stuff.

will be showing more in the future

Wow! It was unexpected! Announcement of a New Update! DerTimmy continues to surprise me! I'll be waiting!

 

By the way, it's right that I decided to add New Difficulty Levels! If there are a lot of Monsters on your Levels, then when playing other WADS, the "Hard" difficulty will not be enough. Because Local UV+ is a Great Solution!

 

By the way, I just read the last comment about "Beasts". So, should we expect Doomguy with a New Arsenal and Campaign?

nah wont add doomguy. would be way too much work.

but added tons of new enemies and overhauled berserk. melee feels "correct" now

 

"fast" is fun but some space cats maps are almost unbeatable. "beast" replaces every doom demon with a beast. made new beasts for this with new attacks. no hitscan attacks.

It's strange, I thought you wrote that "Beasts!" will be a part of "Space Cats Saga".

 

"this project will be canceled and i will put all the updated content into space cats saga together with a new, short campaign :3"

 

I'm just going to go through that 5-Level WAD and I thought: "Will there be Beasts! part of this Mod/TC?" If you say that there will be no Doomguy, then I can safely immediately "Beasts!" pass.

well i put alot of the updated content into space cats. beasts was a good base to balance my monsters and update some stuff.

"Space Slayer" was an idea but it would take way too much time to make a new class (with campaign). I canceled the new campaign so i can work on code and sprites.

Making SCS fun to play is more importent now.

Heres a little list with all the changes that will come with the "+" Update (so far)

-Berserk has been completely overhauled. New Attacks/Sprites for every Class
-Every Melee weapon "feels" correct now (my melee code was pretty messy)
-I added all the Monsters/Beasts for the Replacer
-Re-imagined Bossfights against Bastyber and the Hellrose Queen
-much better looking explosions and effects
-2 new Secret Maps and new cats to find
-some new artworks added to the Gallery
-new opening to Battle for Tangraan (every campaign starts on a space ship now)
-NEW Finisher/Super Moves has been added to every Class (new Keybind G). Fill up the Super bar by killing demons/beasts. Unique to every Girl

 

-Commander Aemi
-Her Pistol can shoot as fast as you click
-replaced her kick with the electroshock mode of her gun for quick access
-the shockbomb of her shotgun looks better, you can hold it charged and does better damage
-damage output of her SSG tweaked
-her Plasma/laserrifle has a new look and better looking rays
-BFG got new effects, doesnt use dooms bfg tracers anymore and the altfire shoots alot faster and uses less ammo now
Added Rage Mode- new super move that kills a target instantly and Aemi enters Rage/Berserk for a short time (if it hits). If you refill it and kill another demon while active, it will slow down time for a short period

 

-Lux
-replaced the laserblades of her melee attacks with additional combos and attacks
-her kick and punches hit alot harder now
-the lasersword feels much better to use now and got some new sprites
-the 8 barreled beast (SSG) shoots a bit faster, got new sprites and effects
-reduced the muzzleflash of her minigun for better visibility
-better altfire for the shocklance
-her Plasma shoots slower but several small Projectiles now
-BFG has a better explosion and the altfire hits a wider area now
-got new berserk combos and attacks to make it more fun to use


-Yaeska
-new effects for her mainweapon
-the laserlance got new combos
-shotgun is semi auto now but can shoot very fast
-new look for her SSG
-Laserbeams as altfire for her Akimbo Laserrifles
-the autocannon fires faster and you can retrieve unused mines
-new altfire for her Plasma
-massive visual upgrade to the BFG explosions and the altfire shoots 3 shots in an arc which spawn small beams of light
-berserk got tweaked and new lightning based attacks


-Sill got some siginifcant Upgrades
-Starts with 150HP, can reflect all kinds of attacks
-shotgun shoots railgun shots now which ignites enemies
-the lmg shoots a devastating beam
-the Flame Projectiles of her Flamecannon bounce and ignite the ground for additional damage
-the Acidguns altfire doesnt hurt you anymore
-the BFG/Staff freezes time with every shot and got new effects and additional lasers
-having her BFG in inventory gives some of her main attacks additional effects, like slowing down time and reflecting projectiles in an wider area
-her Hammer hits mulitple Targets and using her staff as melee weapon is alot more fun now
-Added Super Move: Charge up to unleash a big explosion around you which destroys projectiles and spawns alot of lightning rays


 

 

there are much more tweaks already and i will add alot more. but this will take some time and i will release it if im finally happy with it :3

The new update will be released in April. It looks and plays alot better. All the classes have been remade. Just need to finish working on Sill and some of the Monsters for replacement.

Every Class has its own Super Ability now. Most of the Weapons have been remade and i will make changes to alot of Maps. Will take some more time.

Menus, Artworks and HUD will be the last thing i will work on. This is a big Upgrade to the already released Version with alot more content.

It was already amazing before and now it looks even more promising. I have a suggestion if possible, do you think it would be wise to make the heated weapons instead of getting reset with the primary fire to use the reload button instead ? Is in order to use the special attacks of the heated weapons without accidentally reset them. Also the crosshair of the heated bar appears in the automap too.

i will look into that.

 

im using drawbar for that heat bar. is there a way to not show it on the automap? i know for hudmsg there is a flag that they wont show up, but is there something for drawbar?

the most simple and easy solution is to basically disable the HUD when using automap, to do that , just open the SBARINFO and add at the very end this line:

 

statusbar automap {}

 

this will disable in general the HUD(statusbar and crosshair) when using automap

Release will be April 25th! Everything has been overhauled. Its a blast to play and my Beasts are a good challenge now. Redone both Super Bosses (pretty challenging) and alot of Maps

Destroying this pillar leads to next room, where nothing to happens (enemy is not appeared). My GZDoom has ver. 4.12.1 (latest official release)

happened to me on the flower boss in map 62 too but than not again. maybe its something with my acs scripts. i will gather all the problems before dishing out 40 patches. im working alone on this and it eats up alot of time.

give superenergy 250

in console to fill up your super everytime :3

VERY impressive work and changes and very interesting the way you handled  the Supers for each character too and the weapons changes, just magnificent really.

The only thing that makes me think, is generally the melee attacks of all characters in berserk mode......is just too OP I believe, with just Yaeska Tactical Knives, 2 shots of the alt-fire instantly kills a Cyberdemon, literally is stronger and better rather using a BFG weapon. Makes me think if the berserk is better to be timed rather lasting a whole level. I guess is intentional because of the maps your created and the numbers of enemies. Is not an exaggeration to say that I am relying more on the berserk melee to kill enemies faster rather the weapons.

 

Another thing I noticed is that I decided to play a custom map and at the end of map06 it shows the text for the characters story for some reason, also some vanilla switches are not reacting with a sound or changing color(like skeleton switches that turn red)
