I'll try to record max demos for all these maps (and include them into idgames upload or smth).

Here are the demos of all short maps:

soldemos.zip - maps 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, don't remember times, they are slow!

 

I also recorded demos of older versions of maps 3 (bf-00055.zip, bf.zip), 5 (rn3.ziprn3-00029.ziphttps://youtu.be/ZEG3Bxa15hs), 7 (an_actual_concept.zipaac-00012.zip) and 30 (https://youtu.be/NYG1k9oqlog). So only map 1 really needs a demo at the moment but I'll record new demos for updated versions of these maps as well. Starting to think that the maps aren't that difficult after all...

These look great. Do you happen to know if they'd function in co-op, or are there places where you get locked in an arena and if you die in there it would break progression?

Unfortunately, maps 1, 3, 7 and 30  have some lock-in fights which cannot be entered from outside and so maps will softlock if all players inside die. Also, map 30 uses a voodoo doll to give the player ammo so you'd have to use some sort of ammo cheat on this map.

Alright thanks for the heads up. Do you have any plans to add in e.g. multiplayer teleports outside those rooms? (Often the simplest way to do it) I only ask as I love playing slaughter maps with my brother, but we've played pretty much everything that's out there. I know not everyone wants to spend time making maps work in co-op, but I thought I'd ask.

@Degree23, I updated the wad with some coop friendly stuff. Some maps had player 1 starts being very crowded with monsters so I added player 2 starts in a more safe place in those cases (it seems like the respawn point is chosen randomly among them).

Unless I broke something accidentally or coop still doesn't work somehow (I can't really playtest it obviously), I'm not planning any further updates.

No, you can't get back. I kinda agree but I think that fight is pretty fun anyway so I'll leave it as it is :D I changed the fight on lower skills though (that's the only difference between UV and HMP on map 1)

My strat for that vile fight everybody calls bs:

sol1.zip (-skipsec 120 or smth)

 

The run dies right after I beat that fight, but I didn't have much time for grinding yet, this is like attempt 5, first one to get to the vile fight.

This a pretty nice compilation of your work. Map01, Map03, Map05, Map07 and Map30 were the only ones I didn't play before, so I'll talk about them.

  • Map01 is pretty good, the beginning feels extremely awkward but after that it's pretty fun. I really liked the archvile and imp fight and the big fight too, though I wasn't able to finish the map because I saved before cleaning up of the big fight and didn't notice that a door with 15 or so archviles opened. I'll probably come back some day and finish it though it didn't really ruin my opinion of the map apart from being slightly blind unfriendly in that particular moment.
  • Map03 is very fun if you want to kill some time, but after a while it gets pretty repetitive.
  • Map05 is really hard at the start, but it seems to get a bit easier after opening the key doors (though I have to admit I save scummed).
  • Wasn't a big fan of the toxic floor at the start of Map07, but apart from that the fights were really cool.
  • I really like the strategy involved in Map30, though I have to admit I was lost at the start because I'm dumb and didn't even check behind me. I wasn't a big fan of the archvile tower at the end because you have to rely on the enemies behind you not shooting your back and it feels kind of grindy to poke at the archviles with the bfg. I did like how you used the icon of sin spawners and having to time keygrabs and such, though I feel most of the time the enemies end up telefragging each other a lot. I would say this map isn't blind friendly, but at the same time I barely payed attention to the color coded walls and stuff so that's most likely on me. 

Overall pretty cool maps!

I was really enjoying map 1 but the 24 Archies at once fight was way too over the top. I like maps that push the limits but I couldn't even beat it with keyframe spamming. No health pickups and the room ends up filling up with imps that block you from restocking ammo. Also a bad zap can send you flying out of the area softlocking you out.

I've played through 7 maps in co-op. Generally some great slaughter fun! A couple of things I noticed:

 

Maps 2, 4 and 6: There aren't any multiplayer spawns, and this may be true of maps 8 and 9 as well.

 

Maps 3 and 5: The second player spawn location doesn't have any weapons, which is a real problem on both of these maps. Putting a BFG at both of those locations would be helpful.
