DoomGuy161 Posted August 21, 2021 (edited) Hello. I'm fairly new to making maps. I've been using gzdoom builder and ultimate doom builder. I've noticed that when viewing my maps in the visual mode its displayed in 4:3 stretch, however when i run the maps through a source port like gzdoom its default is 16:9 and my maps look too narrow. Am I missing something? How can I make maps for 16:9 when the doom builder only lets me view my maps in 4:3 stretch? I don't fancy having to widen all my maps. Thanks. boris Posted August 22, 2021 I assume you mean that the pixels are vertically stretched by 20%. You can disable that in Tools -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Stretch view in visual mode. But keep in mind that the graphics for Doom were desinged with the vertical stretch in mind, so stretching is the correct way to display them. See https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Aspect_ratio for more info. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
DoomGuy161 Posted August 22, 2021 (edited) Ive tried that. And yes vertically stretched when in visual mode and then much more narrow when playing the game in gzdoom. I have gzdoom set at default and its at 16:9. When I set gzdoom to 4:3 stretched it looks exactly the same as in visual mode so visual mode is very much stretched. I dont get it really. So im now resizing my maps so they look more stretched in visual mode but normal in gzdoom at 16:9. It just makes designing the maps more time consuming as i have to keep checking how it looks in gzdoom. Edited August 22, 2021 by DoomGuy161 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
