Introducing, our own website for the Doom Master Wadazine endeavour.

The Doom Master Wadazine is proud, happy and more than excited to make our biggest announcement yet! Our very own website. Created with the intention of giving the Wadazine a home of its own, as well as a place where we can expose our projects, events and activities in a centralized way along with a personal touch of our style. The site is still in a young state, with all of our content included, but we also plan to expand its capabilities in the future to include all of our history and make it a great site for Wadazine fans to browse our activities and content.

 

For now, you can find:

- The entire Wadazine issues stock.

- A new and cool blogpost page.

- About us section.

- And links to our Discord home for submissions.

 

Some of the things that we’ll like to add in the future are special sections for our own on-going projects, like the Wadarcheology project, for all those retro lovers, and the Endless Random /idgames WAD Adventures, for those crazy maps explores! This effort is a continuous one that will evolve and get eve better in the not-so-far future.

 

A gigantic thanks to @Nikoxenos for making this possible. He’s the man behind this creative enterprise and responsible for making this happen, so thanks a lot man! And of course, thanks to all the people that have supported us and keep reading our Wadazine, we love you all, doomers.

» What is The Doom Master Wadazine?
Your guide and companion to the beautiful world of Doom and WADs! We are a monthly, free e-zine, focused on anything Doom-related, with special care on Classic Doom and WADs.

 

» Why is it named like that?
Wadazine is the combination of WAD + Magazine = Wadazine. Doom Master is a reference to the game itself, the Master Levels, the Masters of Doom book and to the fact the we are the top magazine for anything Doom related; masters of Doom!

 

» Can I contribute or help in any way?
Sure! Just send me a message (Endless) Any submission is welcome, with a quality-check done by me; so try to follow the standards of the already published submissions in any of our issues to avoid a reject.

 

» Is this exclusively Doom?
Yes and no. Our main focus is Doom, but you can also talk about other Doom-engine games, i.e. Heretic.

 

» What are the Doom Master Recommendations?
A special, honorary recommendation to emphasize WADs of amazing quality in the current year. One WAD is chosen per month to highlight a major quality release. There's 12 Master Recommendations per year, in theory.

 

» How often is it published?
We aim an issue every month.

 

» How does this work?
We are a community project and team effort; we operate on the basis of the actions of a fixed team of passionate Doomers, and in large part on the support of the community submissions.

 

» How long will this last?
Eternal.

 

» Do you pay for participating?
Nope. Everyone who participates here does so non-profit-making. For Doomers, by Doomers. For free.

One comment: the magazine is HUGE. I don't know about you guys, but in this world of constant 24/7 news, maybe slimming it down so more people can get through it in a half hour or less would be great? Up to you guys.

This is epic. Also something unrelated, I think some of the images on Issue 13 (the Impossible segment of the Wad Progression for Skill Improvement) are mismatched.

Doom is going through a renaissance. There's a lot of people getting back into it, particularly single player Doom.

 

Games like minecraft and services like twitch and moddb are really energizing this community. The quality of mapping has gotten much stronger than I would have imagined for a 30 year old game.

In return, each issue also takes quite long to make (semi-monthly release duration), which should give anyone plenty of time to check on past releases :)

Thanks everyone! We hope you all have a good time reading our work or having fun with any of our events. The Wadazine.com is not going to be a static thing, as we still have some plans to upgrade it and make it even cooler for our readers. Since this is the first time we do something like this, we are still quite novice at this whole website-handling, but so far, we're loving it!

Knowing my obsession with writing, I'll probably do one a day. jk. But I will definitely keep the blog active, both for my own comments, as well as small previews of articles that will be fully revealed in our upcoming editions.

That reminds me, I should probably do some final editing for my article.
