Do have a doom that you absolutely love but everyone else is either indifferent to it, or hates it?

One of these maps that I love is MAP 25 of TNT EVILUTION, Barons Den.  I really like playing this map, the secrets are rewarding and fun to explore. I don't get why people pass up this map up. This map is just fun to explore, and I  loved this map after playing it and I still love it today. So yeah are there any maps you love that the community doesn't care about it at all?

TNT:31 PHARAOH -  the one with the bug. I really love it, but I realize that it's layout is incongruent, it has this nasty YK bug AND it can be cheated. But.....I am deeply loving it. Can't explain, but I love it.  Guess I listened too many times to this one.

I've got to go with e2m5: Command Center. It's not as bad as people make it out to be. It's got lots of exploration, things to see, secrets to discover, baddies to zap. All in all, a favourite of mine.

Agree, the gameplay of E4M1 and E4M2 is chaotic but so much fun, one of the best levels of ultimate doom IMO.

I'm probably one of the few who prefer the second half of EP4 over the first few levels. I love the atmosphere, but don't like all that hateful lava.

I'm gonna assume you meant doom map. If so, then E2M3, Refinery, also known as the one that uses the intermission music. People say it's ugly as hell, but I like the jank look of it.

Yep, I sure do! Ya know something, since the first time I played it, good ole MAP24 of DOOM 2 has been an all time fav. Back in the 90's I played that level obsessively. Never gotten tired of it. 

It amuses me to learn that it is considered a menace. It's different. Back then it was harder to make levels which include a great amount of verticality, here was id's crack at that. I love the Chasm! 

If any of you can find a judge who would sign off on it, I will marry that level.

I agree as well. E4M2 seems to be generally well-received as it should be, but it’s more uncommon to see E4M1 get some love, I think? I love it though, and if I did a cover version of an IWAD level, I’d start with E4M1.

 

Let it be noted that I also quite like E2M6, contrary to popular opinion. In fact, I like almost all of E2, only E2M3 is sub-par and E2M9 is plain stupid and disappointing.

I think that eternal is pretty, as long as you have a guide for the one or two level with cryotic shootable switchs hidden on a wall that opens by walking in a fucking window.

The atmosphere is nailed, and yiu can feel the sens of place and adventure.

It's really cool.

Mount pain, IMO is the best map of TNT: Evilution, I think I learned to love the map.

E2M5. I get that it's rather large and unwieldy but Sandy clearly knew full well what he was doing here. An easy to understand structure, a cool fight with a Baron of Hell pair, and some neat detailing, which observation of can greatly aid in the finding of the secret level.

 I also like Downtown quite a bit as well.

 

Baron's Den was kind of boring, though I will say the track Lee Jackson came up for it was frickin' AMAZING. Nicely atmospheric and almost makes it as enjoyable as Deepest Reaches (which most people don't like too much either, I should say).

For me, probably Plutonia map10. I get the impression that a lot of people dislike that map because it feels so cruel, but it's one of my favorites. It just requires strategy and caution, and I found it such a thrill to overcome my first time.

Doom 3 got memed on pretty hard for a long time but it seems like recently people have come around to it being a good game for what it was.

 

Anyway, most people are naming stock id maps and such, but I'll drop KZiZD here.  Whatever drama there may or may not have been around its release (and I don't even remember now), I loved the ethos and what it was trying to accomplish and I'm sad that TSoZD will most likely never exist.
