NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL BOSS MUSIC

Recommended Posts

I wanted to start this topic to hear what you people thought would make a really good boss track, whether it be a Rock or Jazz song it don' matter!

This title is reminding me of those ads of like compilations of current popular music that I think was made by the same group who did Kidz Bop (or at least the commercials were similar). I think those compilations would be like "Now That's What I Call [blank] 25" or something, and the blank would be different generes, or just music. I assume none were good and it was just easier to buy blank cds anyway.

Anyways, Stand and Shout by Dio would probably work as boss fight music in a beat em up

Lots of songs by Dio would work. Another that comes to mind is Holy Diver which technically has been used for boss music. In Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories it plays for the mission, From Zero to Hero, that's at the end of the first act which is why I kinda consider it boss music.

Unfortunately, YouTube won't let me embed the video.

Early 90's Jungle/Acid is great man, has that energy to it

I wanted to make a scripted scene for this song since long ago.
Still working on it.

Xaser may like to make a map for this song :P

EDIT: Now i remembered that it was KINDA use for a Last Boss Fight, on the film Watchmen.
And damn, that is a wonderful scene for sure.

Kinda cheating a little bit since it's pirate metal but I think this song by Alestorm if done as an instrumental would be a sick pirate boss battle theme.

Spoiler

Also this would be the scariest song ever for a boss theme. QnQ

I remember thinking Gesaffelstein was the hottest shit when I first heard his stuff. I still think it sounds really neat, but I think this song in particular would be neat in a, well, duel

It probably helps that this one is an instrumental, but it also has the right tempo and mood for a one-on-one throwdown:

For something with an intro, more epic mood and suitable lyrics, this Primal Fear track could work:

And for a change of genre, a Hexenkraft track could work for a particularly grim and evil boss:

@Bluemoss This one reminds me a lot of Streets of Rage's "Never Return Alive".

As for my contribution to this thread, I would suggest many KMFDM tracks, including "Ultra" - which incidentally was used for Chun Li's big fight scene in Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie:
