Just wanted to bump this progress thread as there's so much new Wad & Mod activity recently, I didn't want to go 4 pages deep to try and find Ultimate TWANGO's current progress..

I mean... aren't you following the thread & therefore getting a notification every time someone posts in it? It's not like we need visibility at this stage since we're not recruiting or releasing...

We have no more slots for mapping but it appears that maps are in development.

 

A project that I made a while ago is still being worked on too! It just takes some time.

University hit me like an overburdened truck with a slightly leaky back-axle, but I still wish to submit - got a rough layout and the style I want, I must admit this is my first proper venture into deathmatch mapping, so please replace the pre-emptively removed glass cover on the Cacoward cabinet.

 

Here is a crusty screenshot of an intersection area (where quite a few paths cross), I'm quite a fan of interconnectivity, although I most likely will need constructive criticism from versed deathmatch-tioneers to tinker and tune.

Well, I don't visit the forum every day, wish I could, and a lot of the times when I view the forum, I don't login. ~unless I make a post of course.

You make a really good point, I wasn't sure about that either. Didn't know what's "standard procedure" in deathmatch regarding secret exits.
Here's the latest version with the secret exit removed (no other changes):

I think the standard is no "secret" exit. I'm pretty sure when you finish a round on level 8, it will just take you to M9, and the M1 of the next episode.

Something energetic, maybe lots of synths and a good drum hook.

I think synths need to be in Doom music more.

I really like the drums in this simple but catchy. Something in the vein of this would be very nice. I can see you're a Marathon fan, so you'll probably appriciate it.

Here's the thing: all the episode 4 levels in Ultimate Doom use MUS lumps from previous episodes, so I can't really include any unique episode 4 music. Plus, I already got a full house in terms of the music department.

Oh, that's a bummer, I'm not an expert on how MUS lumps work and if something can be done to allow for custom music to be used, still, I'll be following the development of this WAD as always, can't wait to see more.

Custom music can be used, but due to the fact that e4m1 is using the same music as e1m8, upon replacing the song of the latter one, e4m1 will play the exact same song.
