Angry Quilt 2 - for Ultimate Doom (Development Thread)

Recommended Posts

Nice - reading the replies glad you guys liked video

Like I said I had a blast with this whole thing

But for confused people like me it would be really cool if there was some kind of signature in each section or little words on the ground or something. Having a hard time keeping track of this but very impressed how it all came together. 😎

Thanks for the playthrough Clippy!

It's always fun to see FDA's of gameplay.

ah dammit... I cant believe Clippy got stuck... I never had this occur when I tested this.

@MidnightMage

is it too late to make a bugfix to my square?

If you bugfix your square in the idgames version, I'll try to re-upload it.

You know, that's a good idea actually.

We could implement something like that in the next quilt perhaps. If everybody wanted to provide a signature texture or something.

I always have an apple in my maps, did that in square 11 as well :).

here is the fix.. I tested in GZDoom and CrispyDOOM but please test it as well to make sure I haven't missed something... again :-/

AngryQuilt2_fix.rar

also please rename to AngryQuilt2 once its tested and verified to work so it can be reuploaded to the idgames archive

I tested it in crispy doom, changes:

- no more teleports

- switch labels

- somewhat more logic switch assignment

- no more secrets

- doors can be activated if they look like doors this time, some doors have switches for remote opening as well as being able to function on their own

Ok thanks for making these changes. I'll playtest this again tonight and re-upload if I can't find any issues. It's strange I've played this map literally hundreds of times and never got stuck in your square. Perhaps in the final edits things got moved or something. I dunno.

Anyways, I'll update the idgames download tonight. Thanks!

Ok so I've just played through the map, with your new edits and did not find any further bugs. I've made a managerial decision and re-uploaded again.

Sorry for the mix-up everybody. In a week or so, the idgames upload will be the final version.

I've also included a handy navigational map from Noiser that can help identify who did which squares. Should be included in the upload, I hope.

Hell yeah, it's out! @Clippy had a blast watching your run. It's cool to see some of my work being enjoyed by others. :)

Hopefully I can catch the next quilt as well. Planning to play this and the first AQ with some friends tonight.

Same here.

I fell so ashamed that I didn't catch the bugs and that it was so confusing to navigate my square.

I don't recall moving anything but my last minute changes atleast removed some confusion hopefully and simplified things so the risk of more errors have hopefully been greatly reduced.

I named the fort and also added a subtle signature by writing 'starfleet' on the carpet in the baron fort plus added some hopefully helpful writing in various places in my square

No worries. All is fixed and the idgames copy will be updated within the week.

To all interested players, please download the copy from the OP of this thread. This version will be replacing the idgames version when the update goes through.

Sorry for the mix up everyone, I kinda dropped the ball there.

Thanks for all your help everyone on creating such an incredible map! You've all outdone yourselves and this turned out to be a really epic map in terms of scale but also in terms of experiences. Well done!

Hope to see some of you on the next Quilt!
