GZDoom not getting any sound

Im not getting any sound in GZDoom. How do i fix it?

Do you have sound in other apps?

 

Do you get an error message like this in GZDoom's startup log?

my sound works in zandronum i dont get any errors it just boots up and doesnt have errors it doesnt have sound

If i choose microsoft synth or something the music starts working but there nare no sound effects

Could be related to your system's sound settings or drivers. Especially if you mess around with multiple devices and stuff. I know that sounds like a generic answer, but it's usually the root of my audio problems. 

 

What version of GzDoom are you using? Try a fresh copy if you haven't.

i changed the midi in the menu to microsoft sound but if i change the midi to anything else it doesnt have music and i cant get sfx to work in any way

hum, that kinda bizzare... did you try to install sound driver on your computer ?

Try deleting the hzdoom-yournamehere.ini file (mostly located in the same folder as GZDoom) and see if the problem persists.

 

Also, give some more info about your rig. That may help us to closer identify the problem . . .
