Doom 2 In Spain Only Demos [-Compatibilidad Nivel Dos]

Recommended Posts

Yo, use -complevel 2 if the title joke is too lame :P

Doom 2 In Spain Only is a 32-level MegaWAD by Tarnsman, AD and Jimmy. It's a so-called vanilla compatible mapset, but Map30 has an intentional visplane overflow, so treat this as a limit removing mapset. Thus, if you're trying to use any type of vanilla engine, avoid Map30.

Please use the download from DSDA, or the latest idgames download for now. Make sure the WAD file name is "D2ISOv2.wad". If you used any of the older version of the WAD, some demos may desync (namely Map04 and Map06).

Suggested Naming Convention:

d2isoXX-YYY

where "XX" = map number, "-" should be replaced to fit certain category if applicable, "YYY" = your time.

Well yeah, it's fun until 1:25 TBH. 1:25 is really tough to beat and you definitely need luck for that. The most annoying part is the shotgun part where you have no control but vast variance of it.

Also, the way you deal with the second secret is way better than what I was thinking when doing the Max.

actually, i took that from Maribo's run! it's quite clever cuz that linedef also triggers the tele.

MAP03 UV-Tyson 10:15.11

d2iso03t1015.zip

Playing "safely" (relying on the pistol more than the berserk fist, but still taking too much damage), messing around with the lost souls, wasting too much time with trying to shoot the imps before the yellow key room, hiding too much and waiting for to enemy to come closer and wandering for no reason, because I was tired from dying at the end in the previous attempts and started to forget where do I need to go.

tl;dr please someone improve this (and ping me if that happens)

I took the liberty of filling in most of the empty slots in the UV-Speed table.

Put each of the demos into its own individual zip file.

@head_cannon If possible, can you separate all these demos into different zip files? Putting everything into one zip file is very awkward for the maintenance of the archive and very annoying for whoever views the demos. Thanks.

At least on Windows it's not annoying if you associate the .lmp extension with DSDA-Doom, since you can watch demos simply by double clicking them in most cases.

well, the problem is actually not this, or maybe not only this, but yeah, still hope player don't randomly place things in a demo pack.

MAP06 Tyson 17:40.26

d2iso06t1740.zip

This was frustrating. Almost dying in the rocket launcher room, because I'm bad at punching hell knights/barons with almost no space.

In my earlier attempts, if the cause of death wasn't the hitscanners, then it was the barons in that cursed place. That's why I played it "safe" this time.

I never play this map again.
