GZDOOM, LZDOOM or ZDOOM?

For any ZDOOM users, which of the ZDOOM ports do you prefer and why?

I loved this one.

But really GZDoom, as it now has a GLES version that targets lower end hardware. Then LZDoom, and then ZDoom 2.8.1 since its an outdated but fixed release whose feature set remains the same.

I know little about the ZDooms really. All I know is I got a shitty laptop that's only getting shittier and if it comes into question whether it can run something the answer is no. Got LZDoom just in case there is something I want to play that only it can do, and from what little I do know it's better on performance. So far only used it to get screenshots of the end of chapter text for Valiant.

GZDoom. Especially since it now (4.7.0 onwards) has the GLES renderer option which is made for low end hardware and gives even better performance than LZDoom

GZDOOM for general Doom playing needs.

LZDOOM for local splitscreen co-op / deathmatch.

and ZDOOM, I don't really use that much anymore...

GZdoom because certain mappers make certain mistakes that this port ignores like infinite height and ML_sector (or reject) lumps missing inside the wad.

And because this port is the all-rounder of wads and mods, though I refuse to use it as I'm a semi-purist.

GZDoom, but for older systems I need to stay vanilla or use a port that is vanilla and performance optimized...

GZDoom if I want OpenGL.

ZDoom if I want fat pixels.

LZDoom is installed but I just discovered that it was.

I used LZDOOM before because of older hardware.
but now the GLES renderer in the latest releases made change my choice since I can play with max performance with the latest features.

Didn't know this was in the latest release! Thanks.

I am a semi-purist so I only use ZDoom or GZDoom when the mod specifically requires it. Never had cause to use LZDoom.

Uh... what? I really do not fathom how a choice of one particular port due to preference or circumstance makes you a loser.

was originally put off by GZDoom since it had the texture filtering on by default and thought it looked really bad.

now that ZDoom's out of development tho I've basically moved over to GZDoom now.

Exactly this for me too. I do like Vanilla essence, which is obviously a vanilla emulator for GZDoom.

In other news, dafuq is LZDoom?

I actually like the texture filtering, I made a few custom sprites and the filter smoothed out the edges.

I Don't really Like staring at raw pixels

I use GZDoom because I'm kinda weird about using no-longer-maintained sourceports (with special exception to Skulltag, long live Skulltag) and because the two computers I use for Dooming seem to be able to handle it okay.  Might give LZDoom a try sometime just for shits and to see if the performance on my laptop is any better.

I've using LZDoom until like a month ago, because I wanted to try out the GZDoom gles version, both are quite good for shitty computers

I'm more of a crispy doom kind of person. But I decided to bite the bullet and start using GZDOOM as well, not only because of UDMF format, but also since it allows me to make more lazy maps without having to fix map errors within the editor.
