Henda929 Posted September 30, 2021 Always liked the Barron of hell the way it looks with the animal legs and torso like a big muscular humans and it’s projectile being green especially playing on the gz doom where they glow and light up corridors. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Hisymak Posted September 30, 2021 Spider Mastermind. Mostly due to practical reasons: in many cases, it's more helpful than harmful - it's extremely likely to infight with other monsters, so it often helps me clearing the other baddies around. And it is mostly very easy to kill, so I get satisfied for killing a big boss monster where the mapper expected giving a threat to me, but I defeated that without much deal. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
TheLippyServer Posted September 30, 2021 Cacos and Barons are about tied. Then Archies and Elementals just behind them. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
omx32x Posted September 30, 2021 (edited) my favorite is the arch and the marauder but since threads like this are so frequent i wanna tell about the favorites of someone else since its behind a language barrier on his web page tatsurd cacocaco says his favorite demons are the caco demon (obsviously) and the arch vile unrelated but he also says that his favorite weapons is the "combat shotgun" since both the super shotgun and the pump shotgun have been refered as combat shotgun in the series its anyone guess which of them he is refearing to edit: forgot to put the link lol http://tatsurdcacocaco.ninja-web.net/profile.html its in japanese so yeah Edited September 30, 2021 by omalefico32x 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Arrowhead Posted September 30, 2021 I've always been partial to the arachnotron. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Nikku4211 Posted September 30, 2021 Shotgunner. He gives you a shotgun, which is a really useful weapon. Hitscanners are a pain, but high risk, high reward. Chaingunners are 2nd, because they're way more of a pain, especially when maps spam them. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
jghfugg29833 Posted September 30, 2021 The revenant and the cacodemon. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Ripper Posted September 30, 2021 Tough choice, my opinion on an enemy may change according to its placement within the level and the situation the represent. I think I like standard imps - 'cause they're easily gibbable :) In DOOM 2016 and Eternal they're fast and agile which is represented in some gameplay mods. I also have a love-hate relationship with revenants. Mainly due to seeking missiles that may out of the blue deal 80 dmg ;) They're strongly affected by RNG that's for sure 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
El Juancho Posted September 30, 2021 The cyberdemon, there is no enemy as scary in any shooter i played, in enclosed spaces or with obstacles it is absolutely lethal, I love that it fires 3 missiles at a time and how useful it is for infighting, its design is also very cool. :D 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Azure_Horror Posted September 30, 2021 The spooky skeleton could be here, but a stray 70-hp homing missile hit me. Thus the spooky skeleton was disqualified. The cyberdemon gets the title of my favourite doom enemy. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chopkinsca Posted September 30, 2021 A locked door, just because of how damn passive they are. Second would be a tie between the caco and an archvile. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Astro X Posted September 30, 2021 Spider mastermind, arachnotron and baron of hell are my top 3, I think. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Biz! Posted September 30, 2021 Hitscanner enemies, both modded and original, I love them, however I love cacodemons, they're so friendly 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
vanilla_d00m Posted September 30, 2021 (edited) Baron Of Hell. When you first see them in ULTIMATE DOOM EP1... you just sit in you're chair in disbelief! They also make you wan't to workout and exercise because they look buff and intimidating. ID software did a good job making me stay in episode 1 for all these years. They are not as buff & tough as the space marine though! :) Edited September 30, 2021 by vanilla_d00m 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Stupid Bunny Posted October 1, 2021 8 hours ago, Jacek Bourne said: 1. Archvile 2. Revenant 3. Cyberdemon These, in this exact order Although if I can break it down... The archvile is arguably both the most tactically and conceptually interesting of the enemies in Doom. I appreciate that in amongst all the extremely enormous and/or swole high-HP enemies, one of the strongest and deadliest is this frail-looking, jaundiced humanoid...it somehow drives home how brimming with devil sorcery the thing must be to be so formidable. All the more so for its speed, that fire spell of his, and of course the whole reanimating the dead thing. All this too gives them the unfortunate habit of emerging out of nowhere to flambe my ass, often with some revenants in tow that I quite comfortably believed were done with. Just the sound of one still terrifies me, and that's a testament to how well-designed they are. The revenant is amazing for how versatile it is: whether as a turret or a hunter, alone or in hordes or in the company of other monsters, in confined spaces or in an arena, they can be effective anywhere if used right. Another enemy whose screech makes my spine tense--I hate those homing missiles so very much, but with a little practice and thoughtful mapping they still stay within the bounds of fairness, and make a battle against any number of revenants an exciting one. The revenant in fact is kind of a victim of its own success, in a sense, because their versatility and tactical uniqueness mean that they tend to be ubiquitous, often to the point of annoyance (I think I determined that only two maps in Plutonia contain zero revenants on any difficulty level, and one of them is an archvile maze.) The cyberdemon is cool and badass and fun to draw. That's all I've got to say on that subject 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Hawk of The Crystals Posted October 1, 2021 Imps and shotgunners. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
EANB Posted October 1, 2021 I like the Baron for it's intimidating presence. That wakeup sound carries a lot of weight, even if they are just a fat imp. My favorite in terms of gameplay is the Revenant. High damage, fast, and hard to avoid, but low health and high pain chance. It's a very well balanced monster. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Kan3 Posted October 1, 2021 I'd say the Baron first and the Mastermind next. I vividly remember the baron sounds in psx doom, it was damn scary, it used to give me nightmares when I was a child x), but at the same time, it's a bulky satan's beast that I've always considered the essence of Doom since, probably, the most demonic figure in the game after the Icon of sin. I put the spider next cause, again, she was the final boss in Doom II for psx, it was the most awaited enemy for me x). It's freaking cool then! A giant ominous brain, with 4 huge mechanical spider legs and a big chaingun: it's awesome *_* Not to mention how it's so useful in infights x) P.S. I don't figure out how there are so many fan of the cacodemon, it's so damn annoying when you shoot at it and it gets bursted away through the map and you have to chase it like a monkey 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
jerk-o Posted October 3, 2021 Number 2 is the Pain Elemental because it spawns my favorite enemy. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
