printz Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) Under /idgames/docs/misc there are three files from 1994, doom11.story, doom12.story and doom13.story. You won't see them from the Doomworld frontend because they're not ZIP files. They basically seem to be the first three levels of Doom 1 written like fan fiction. The main question is: who wrote them? Who uploaded them? Is the author anyone well known? I mean if they got a place there and others didn't, then maybe the author got recognized from a greater group, right? Edited October 4, 2021 by printz title fix 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
Quasar Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) I can't verify the reliability but this old Usenet thread is about them and names the author as Chris Ackney: https://groups.google.com/g/alt.games.doom/c/-ci4mVX5p34/m/dFup6sErgWYJ EDIT: Seems the info is correct as they were originally posted to Usenet; ex: https://groups.google.com/g/alt.games.doom/c/XnJuHa3WVRk/m/Po_3JkrN7GIJ Edited October 4, 2021 by Quasar 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
P41R47 Posted October 4, 2021 Yo! printz! Great finding! Gonna check them as different fan content for Doom is always a pleasure. Anybody know about ''The Tome of Blood''? Its a massive compendium of Blood fan fiction, Blood inspired poems, essays and many more! We need something like this for Doom. Especially from me, because my post are ridiculously essayistic... . . . Hey! It was a joke! But we need more like this, and i'm not joking there. The post is just a really good psychollogical insight on Doom game and the simbyotic relationship with the gamerhttps://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/18163-hurt-me-plenty-the-vagina-dentata-of-doom/ 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
