But that isn't something you can just know as a relative newbie. Obviously it's fine to run it on any source port that will run it, and generally people agree that you pay the WADs how you like, but there are some cases where it will break progression and be considered cheating. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

That is good to know, and I appreciate you telling me. I stand by my no mouse look hard pass but it's good to know what I'm looking for. By ye warned all! On topic, what a transition, in the new vid I take a jump I shouldn't have that I didn't even realise until I was watching it back, so I'll have to unbind that. I didn't flag it, see if you can spot it? Also invented arbitrary rules to make my own life harder. Did it tho, first run technically...Here it is. lvl9. I think when everything randomly died, you might have accidentally typed a command cheat or used a kill monsters bind, as there were enemies in the exit and the archvile on the pillar that falls out the ceiling cannot be killed early. Thanks for testing! I assumed it was something relating to the map, I deff didn't type anything but I'm just now learning there's kill monsters bind so that sounds feasible if it's somewhere near wasd. It's because some games don't recognise mouse 7/8 as a bind, but they will bind [ or ]. I Generally use them for inventory scrolling or special attacks. There is always a way! • Besides balancing concerns, I've already included an expanded arsenal of weapons (and a bunch of new monsters as well) in my mod, and I'm afraid I do not know how Brutal Doom or similar mods will interact with it. I ask that you try going through it first without Brutal Doom to keep the intended balance and everything intact. I'm not too sure about all the various Hardware rendering settings, but I recommend using either "Vanilla", "Software", or "Doom" sector lighting instead of the more flat "Bright" or "Standard" ones. You're using the updated version, with the balanced MAP09 and some edits. MAP32 is now MAP31, and the MAP32 is a new map I was working on, entered through some really subtle secrets. Sorry for responding late. Also, about the accidental console command, I meant typing combo, such as IDKFA or IDDQD, because TNTEM is a command in sourceports like Dos Boom or PrBoom that kills all monsters. Then again it probably breaks balance less for me than for a lot of you! You don't need to keep thanking me, although it's kind I do this because I enjoy it! And with respect if I stop enjoying it I'll stop doing it haha Thank you (and everyone else here) for keeping me supplied with a steady stream of quality new maps to do it with! I didn't find the secret exit, in all honestly if it's not in a vid it didn't happen. I record the playthrough with fresh eyes and don't generally go back after (which is part of why I die so often..) unless I failed to get to the exit, then I'll go back and also record it. I suspect I'm slowly getting better.. or at least sucking slightly less.. so that's nice. I'll try and get a mini one up of 32 tonight, though it'll be teeny because I'll basically have to edit the deaths out (contradicting what I just said about seeing the whole thing I guess..)
