Where can I find palettes?

Recommended Posts

So, I'm making a 3D game in the vanilla Doom engine (don't ask why) and I used a palette made by Nash, and it didn't display correctly. So, is there somewhere that has palettes for vanilla Doom? If not, does Chex Quest have a custom palette? Can I use it?

Edit: I'd like a colourful one.

*ahem* Sorry if this is the second time I posted this, but I got pretty triggered asking it in "Editing Questions".

Anyways, I was making a game in my own and I required a palette (as I am using vanilla doom due to the project's condition).

Anyways, I used Nash's palette from Nash's standalone game pack. It didn't work, so I will obviously search a palette that fits for myself, but I'll also ask it here for help. A colorful palette would fit for me.

Perhaps you should first try to find out why Nash's palette didn't work.

I don't have that standalone pack handy at the moment, but I figure that since it's minimalist and for GZDoom, it only contains the first palette, whereas vanilla Doom requires a PLAYPAL lump with 14 palettes in it. Fortunately, you can use SLADE to quickly generate all the needed extra palettes.

Yeah, I knew that was for GZDoom.

I guess I will do that.

They're pretty easy to modify, is there any reason it has to be different from Doom's standard one? FreeDoom is an example of a "standalone Vanilla Doom game" which has basically the same palette, if you're worried about using an unmodified one.
