Importing MP3s into wads using Slade aint working

I was making a wad and I wanted to put an mp3 of a song in it, but Slade kept reading it as an unknown even though I have made wads using it that had custom music.

here is a screenshot, hope it helps:

(the highlighted one is the mp3 I imported)

 

I've tried dragging it in and using the Import Files button but it didn't work.

 

I am running a Mac build of Slade (an old one because the newer ones won't work) so that may be the issue but, as I said, I have already made a wad with custom mp3 music.

 

any advice?

While that's certainly odd, it doesn't matter if Slade3 can detect the type or not. Just proceed as normal and see if it still works in game.

I have tried actually. if it did work, I wouldn't have posted this question.

Then there's probably something wrong with the MP3.

did you rename the song? doom has specific song names that makes it play.

if you are trying to use it as the song for map 1 then rename it D_RUNNIN

This happened to me before it's corrupt because you used a mp3 converter that is not legit if I'm wrong I'm sorry.

i used an mp3 converter before and it worked for me, it most likely could be this persons version of slade

yes but for the example i just named it song
