Fragport Midi Pack

Fragport is a complete 32 maps vanilla replacement for Doom 2 made by Stephen Clark AKA The Ultimate DooMer, a very prolific Doom mapper that release lots of different mapsets, mods and content for the different Doom Engine games over the years.

007: License To Spell Doom become one of the recipient on 2002 of one of the best 100 megawads of our Doom's community first long decade.
After that, The Ultimate DooMer released some massive projects for Doom and Hexen.

The highly ambitious and quite inspiring Super Sonic Doom, and the other is one of the first attempts to make a full fledged RPG system with GZDoom for Hexen, Serpent: Resurrection.

But Fragport, one of his very first projects, went by almost unnoticed.
And for certain, its probably the most important of his Doom releases as it started the adventures of Jody Russel, the protagonist of 007: License to Spell Doom, and a character mentioned during the event of Super Sonic Doom.

P41R47 found about Fragport long ago, when he was a teenage and played Doom 2 and Ultimate Doom almost non-stop.
And along his most played PWADs was Fragport. But little snotty P41R47 always thought that something was missing on Fragport.
YES! A good set of midis to listen while playing those fun maps!
So, as The Ultimate DooMer recommended on the Fragport.txt, P41R47 played this absolutely fun mapset with his stereo to the max with a compilation of really catchy and great popular songs of different genres.

Time passed, and P41R47 still enjoys Fragport like it was the first day he played it, but after soo long, unfortunatelly, the CD compilation of music got scratched.
So putting his hands to work, and listening to a good set of songs while replaying the mapset for the hundred time, he compiled a midi pack for it, with a few extra ;)

Along the 32 midi songs of popular rock, metal and pop acts, P41R47 made a new TITLEPIC showcasing the main character of Fragport, a new INTERPIC, also showing the MC, a cool looking new M_DOOM, and a really flashy new ENDOOM, made with the awesome ENDEDIT by @jval to close the package.

Been planning on releasing it since January, but life got in the middle along lots of other projects. So i took advantage of my internet acting funky lately to finally complete it.

                          Rage Against The Machine

The Ultimate DooMer! Didn't he make Serpent (one of my favorite Hexen WADs)?

Also the awesome Map01 from CC1. And plenty of other things.

Jeez, this dude's a flipping legend!

@P41R47 I hope he sees your MIDI pack and gives a bigger grin than Doomguy himself.

Yeah! The Ultimate DooMer is a hell of a mapper.
Super Sonic Doom is a masterpiece, and i totally think that it may be the inspiration for Doom: The Golden Souls serie.

Fragport is one of my favourite mapsets of all time.
I hope he likes this little midi pack :)

Not bad, but this mapset definitely could use an original soundtrack specifically composed for the occasion! Speaking of which, I remember the team behind the TNT MIDI pack were looking for new projects to score.

I do hope he does know about it. He's not been on here in a couple of years. I would like to get his permission for an updated SSD.

I do love these kind of projects. Always gives new life.

have you tried in the zdoom forums?
I think he may be more active there.
Sometimes he appear around here, as his profile shows, but not usually.

Certainly, Super Sonic Doom needs an update for it to be playable on the latest releases of GZDoom.
I can't even run it with the solution proposed on the doomwiki page :/

I tried that as well but he's been inactive on there more or less the same time he's been inactive on here. The problem is, I've actually made the update already with 3D floors and bugs fixed but the file states that I can not release it as a modification.

Though the sole exception was of course, if there are bugs. But it would require him having it. Plus it had a minor remaster aspect of it withthe 3D floors and all.

i think if you release it as an addons, that still includes the original files, you are not doing anything wrong.
But well, yes, the advice on the .txt sometimes is a bit tricky.:/

You can release it in hope he sees it, maybe that would me helpful for both.

Another option would be that @Graf Zahl would like to make an exception on the recent build of GZDoom to make it compatible with them.
Maybe its not viable since the version specified for compatibility its not even the latest zdoom release :/

That's a point. If I am allowed to release it as long as the original is provided, then that might be the best course of action.

As for the second option, I would say it's a no go, since getting a specific version just for one mod is kinda moot.
