[SLOTS TAKEN!] Community Trunk, a cp in the style of CC1 and CC2

Glad to see you weren't entirely discouraged from hosting a CP in general, Dusty. This is going to be a big task, so don't be afraid to ask folks for help and remember to have fun! I look forward to seeing how this project shapes up.

Good luck on the project, everyone! Sad to see the map slots got taken up so fast - Dusty, if you decide to expand this to full megawad status, I'll gladly take a map in the 21-29 range!

oh its finally here, ive been checking every day looking for this after you mention it but sadly all the slots are taken :(

^It looks like we need more map slots.  How about it Dusty? I'm down to make a second myself.  Maybe we go to 20 so the people who didn't get a slot can get one?  If you do, I'd like to switch my entry to a map 18 slot.  Thus freeing up 14 for anyone.

Thank you man, I am overwhelmed at how supportive this community is. And I'm really happy, not only to be releasing something, but also to lead it.

I'm sorry man. Yet again, I'm considering bringing the slots up to 32. It just wouldn't be a good CC tribute otherwise. Though it will be more to manage.

Also to anyone artistically - minded, we still need an ENDOOM, TITLEPIC, and a custom intermission screen. Maybe a F1 help screen too, if someone is willing. @Hitboi already whipped up a pretty nice M_DOOM for the titlepic to use as a reference.

If the map count ends up getting extended, a slot around the 25 mark would be great for what I've got planned. Happy to drop my current slot for it.

@Cammy How does Map21 sound?

 

@General Rainbow Bacon Map 18 is yours, leaving Map14 open.

 

@Mystic 256 I've opened up the map slots. You can have Map14 or anything between Map16 - Map30. With the exception of Map29, Map18, and Map21.

Glad to have you all onboard!

 

@akolai You can have Map25 in addition  to your current one. Or if you just want to drop the original slot, tell me. Thanks!

Still in there in dsda/pr-boom, or I am just blind even with iddt. Is it supposed to be just one secret?...

 

And some missing textures, with screenshots so you can fix it afterwards, maybe. Good level nonetheless! I like the fight in the slime field, it managed to kill me with 400 plasma... Stoopid Arch-Viles and Barons.

Look above the ammo on the right side of the hud. Missing sidedefs or one huge slimetrail?

Ooooo a Community Chest 1+2 tribute? Hmmmmm sure I guess, since the other community project is (probably) dead/no progress is happening to it. I'll join in later, one question tho. Can I use silentzora's System Control remix midi for one of my maps? (plus a rott midi extended by an ai for the lulz)

Of course, glad to have you guys aboard. And as much as I like the RoTT music (seriously Jackson and Prince's best music imo), I don't think RoTT music fits this project. Works better in Alien Vendetta, Hell Revealed, and well, Rise of the Triad. The other midi should be fine though. What slot do you want?

no there is 2 secrets. And i saw those slime trails  in development, I think it's some sort of error to do with the amount of vertices being so close together since its a rounded sector. I have no idea what to do about that. if someone does id love to know

I would like to make a map for this. Can I have one of the slots? I don't really care which one.

 

I do have a few questions, @Dusty_Rhodes:

- Will you replace the sky textures or will you keep the original Doom 2 ones? I ask because having the city skyline for episode 2 kinda forces mappers to make something that fits an urban setting. Having three more generic skies (perhaps as simple as different colors of clouds?) would allow more freedom. Just a suggestion.

- Is there a deadline for finishing the map?

I have an finished unpublished map from a couple months ago that I could throw in for 32 that would fit the set perfectly if you guys would like.

The first episode uses the starry skies from the Master Levels, second episode uses Plutonia episode 1 cloud sky, and episode three uses the Hell sky from TNT. It's in the resource wad. Also the only reason the Gothic textures are there are for Plank Guy's map. I'm considering not using them though, as I don't think they fit the project too well. Thanks for asking. And no, we don't have a deadline now, but progress is going pretty quickly, so we'll have to see.

In my experience, just make one vertex out of the few that cause the slimetrail. Or what also works is just set them apart from one another, as vertecies get stored as one integer and if two are too close they get saved into the same integer, and separating them will make them get stored in two different integers.

my wad from a couple months ago would fit this perfectly. going for map 20. Already talked to Rhodes. hope you guys like it :) I posted it on here a few months ago and it got great reception but I never put it on Idgames so what better way to use it?

Um, I think RSKY1 and RSKY2 are swapped.
