Can You Identify All The Albums Here?

DSC

Recommended Posts

I made the following image for a college work, its a mash-up of various music albums with a certain connection to me. And well, after I completed it, I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be fun to make a game of guessing out of this?" So... Here it is. Because I'm not the best at this kind of works, and because I don't even have a good image editor in the first place, its incredibly crappy looking, but oh well... At least I still think you can make out most of the covers.

I'll just point out the ones I know well and like a lot. I see you're a Genesis fan as well!

Genesis - Trespass, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Trick of the Tail, Wind and Wuthering

Van Der Graaf Generator - H to He Who Am the Only One, Pawn Hearts (my second favorite album of all time), Godbluff, Still Life

Gentle Giant - Octopus, In a Glass House, The Power and the Glory, Free Hand

Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Emerson Lake & Palmer, Tarkus, Trilogy, Brain Salad Surgery

Steely Dan - Aja

Frank Zappa - One Size Fits All

I could probably name almost all of them, but those are the ones I like a lot.

I spy Death's last four albums on the bottom right (Human, Individual Thought Patterns, Symbolic, Sound of Perseverance). I think I recognize all of the ones by the Beatles, Sabbath, Zeppelin and the like.

Stand Up (1968)

Great work with your list! However, I must inform you that particular album isn't actually here, funnily enough! Maybe you mixed it up with

Spoiler

Long Live Rock N' Roll by Rainbow?

Thanks! Yes, I am a really big Genesis fan. BTW... There is an extra Gentle Giant album in there! It's incredibly well-hidden, since the album cover honestly is very, very awful... Can you find it? ;D

Sorry everybody for the double post, I had trouble with some quotations writing my reply.

Maybe! The album cover sort of reminded me of Jethro Tull's first album!

Not ashamed to admit that I own about 95 percent of the albums on this collage, great taste in music mate. I definitely would have added:

  • Goodbye by Cream
  • Obscured By Clouds by Pink Floyd (Great underrated album on the cusp of DSOTM)
  • In The Hall of the Mountain Grill by Hawkwind
  • Cultosaurus Erectus by Blue Oyster Cult (Severely underrated album that no one seems to talk about)

I also guess I'm one of those rare Genesis fans that equally enjoys the prog and pop years, go figure.

for legal purposes this is a joke. good list, deep purple ftw. have you made any music?

No, I haven't yet... BUT, I do play the guitar. Did you ask the question because of all the progressive rock albums? Very well, usually the people who like that kind of stuff are musicians themselves, makes it easier to understand the artistry behind it all. Good thinking on your part!

Oh shoot I just realized what I screwed up! I think I meant "The Yes Album (1971)" and got it confused with another prog-ish band!

Actually more that you seem to be a big music fan in general. Such folks usually have dabbled in something musical (and if they haven't, they should!)

If you have an iPhone and can get ahold of an app called Music Memos, you can play guitar into it and it will auto-generate bass and drums. It's a ton of fun! But idk if you can still download it officially as they ended support :(
