Agnes Posted February 6, 2003 Well, I suppose an atmosphere would come in handy even if people wouldn't be able to breathe in it. It could protect buildings from meteorites, at least. Since Mars is closer to the asteroid belt and has a thinner atmosphere than Earth, there would be more meteorites hitting the surface? Otherwise, they'd need some sort of shield. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

From a level designers point of view a deadly Mars surface is crap, because it really reduces the level design to indoor scenarios only, plus some panoramic landscape views through windows. True, but don't forget there will be hell type levels as well. I'm sure hell will be more suitable for outdoor areas. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Let's hope there'll be some large outdoor areas in Hell, although Hell could also house lots of really claustrophobic areas. I really hope id doesn't make this "sidetrip" to Hell too short - like you enter the portal, there's a single short level worth of Hell and then it's back to base-pounding again. That'd just be too short and would suck. I want to be in Hell long enough to get a fairly rich idea of what Hell is like in this universe. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
