I really don't understand all the animosity in this thread... as someone who likes writing long-form reviews, I truly do get where NIH and Arlene are coming from. 

 

But do we need to be rude to our fellow members? Calling people idiots, or fuck knuckles seems like a bit of a stretch. Those are the kind of words you use for TRUE jackasses in real life... people that kick your dog, jerks who cut you off on the freeway... not someone that disagrees w/ you on a forum. I agree w/ the sentiment of "memesters are ruining the sidebar" - but I don't agree w/ the disparaging language on display here. Seems a bit much considering this subject matter.

 

Yes, something should be done to quell meme reviews, I don't like seeing them either... but let's at least try to be polite to each other.

The review panel comes to have almost no activity for more than a week, sometimes.
And then, someone resurface and old wad and there is activity for a few days.
So, its purpose is still being fullfilled, just in a way that you don't like.
You can still use it, no body stops you, and even be purposelly usefull to the forums posting your own review on a file you like

Yes, different people like different things, but there are different places for different people. There are other places where they can have their "fun".

But as you say, different places for different people. Why this place can't be fun for some?

Put meme reviews on your status updates. Please put actual critiques in the reviews so the review bar isn't full of the same 5 dumb jokes.
