Chipper35 Posted December 3, 2021 So, when one downloads a texture pack from, say.....REALM 667........how does one actually access/utilize those respective textures? Does the whole thing simply unzip as a PK3 file and then you load that in UDB as one of your resource files? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Kan3 Posted December 3, 2021 You can do this (using it as a resource in UDB), but then you have to warn other players that they need that specific texture pack, or you can implement it directly into your wad with Slade3 for example. Even better if you could implement only the texture you're using from that texture pack and not the whole thing, otherwise the weight of your wad would skyrocket. DoomKid made a simple and effective tutorial about it . 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

I have run into some issues there. I think I have it right now but maybe somebody here can verify that. In Slade I first open the Texture1 file and click edit textures. I find the one I want to delete and do it there first and save it. Then I go back to main list, click Graphics and then find my texture and delete it there too and save it again. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

I save individual textures from other pwads or a texture pack or make them myself and put them in their own folder. Open that folder in Slade3 import and ctrl click all the textures you want and import. Keep them all highlighted and convert, add to pnames and add to textures and hit save and they will all be in your lineup. I'm getting ready to do a Gothic map in UDB so I will be relying on the GOTHICTX pack. It has some great stuff. And as you probably already know, credit the artists if you distribute your map. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
