Recommended Posts

Aw, man. We're losing a lot of good people recently. :-(

RIP Uemura-san. You will be greatly missed.

Sad news, indeed. Another progenitor of a fundamental part of our collective childhood is no longer with us.

RIP.

One of the founding fathers of “video games” as we know them. What a huge legacy. Thanks for all the great memories and Rest In Peace.

I never owned a Nintendo myself, but my memories of playing on an old NES with my friend when we were kids and him getting pissed off and conducting an informal build quality test on those controllers will always raise a smile. A worthy legacy. RIP sir.

Damn. Masayuki was really a legend and he helped create my favourite system of all time, the SNES.

Rest in Piece.

I remember the times when I played Super Mario Bros and Dr. Mario back when I was young, and while also playing Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam on the SNES while in my teens. Also it really was good times when me and my brother fought with each other in the SNES version of Killer Instinct (played via emulation at the time).

May he Rest in Peace.
