DeHacked: Why do the monsters have their walking frames doubled?

Question

Basically what the title says. Can I free up a bunch of states with actions by just doubling the duration of four of those states? Like instead of it being

 

SSWV A 4 A_Chase

SSWV A 4 A_Chase

SSWV B 4 A_Chase

SSWV B 4 A_Chase

 

just use

 

SSWV A 8 A_Chase

SSWV B 8 A_Chase

 

instead? Or will that cause issues I’m not aware of? The only downside I see is it will double how long it takes monsters to reach their targeting threshold but that’s not really a problem to me.

Doubling the frame duration makes them less aggressive (as in they attack less often), since calls to A_Chase are less frequent. It also makes their movement jerkier and slower since they move less often. If you double the actor speed, you can make up for them moving slower, but it's still jerkier.
