0 ducon Posted December 22, 2021 It depends on if you are using *ZDoom or not. In the first case, open a WAD with this feature and look how it’s built. In the second case, see here or here. 0 Gez Posted December 22, 2021 There are two ways to do sliding doors in Doom. The first is to use PolyObjects. This gives you the genuine article, but only ports with advanced mapping feature will handle those (*ZDoom, Eternity, Vavooom, EDGE, etc.). The second is to fake them using Boom's displacement texture scrollers and height transfers. You make a regular vertical door, but use height transfer to make it look always open, and use displacement scrollers to make sidedefs that seem to slide horizontally just in front of the door, tied to the door's actual-but-hidden movement. @Urthar explained all that much more clearly here: 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
